Killzone 2.
Let me show you why they call me the velour fog. Hit it.
I met her in a club down in old Soho,
Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like coca cola,
C-o-l-a, cola.
She, walked up to me and she asked me to dance,
I asked her her name and in a dark brown voice she said;
Leela, L-e-e-l-a, Leela, Lee, Lee, Lee, Leela
Leeeeeeeelaaaaaaaa

Story? What story? Oh you mean the hopeless efford in TRYING to tell a story in a millitary madness game? I have to admit the opening was rather good, but it got worse and worse. And the english captain was a really poor made character. I really tried to get into the story, but it was BOOORING. I`d rather watch the garbage movie jarhead instead of the story in COD4. But a great game? Oh yes.

The story is actually pretty good, hence we are getting the first Call of Duty sequel
And Captain Price = win, i dont know how anyone could say otherwise.
It's definitely a great FPS, not sure if I'd call it the best FPS ever, Counterstrike(the original), Team Fortress(the original) were also pretty epic in reply value imo. Not to mention Battlefield 1942 which was really the first game to introduce the whole vehicle thing(at least properly).
To be honest, Killzone 2 and the Halo series wouldn't be anywhere near the top shooters ever imo, they're very generic and don't really differentiate themselves from the stuff that came before.
The only teeth strong enough to eat other teeth.
Best FPS... no. I'd give that title to Half-Life 1. Amazing game in terms of story, atmosphere and gameplay, let alone all the mods that were released for it.

Here are some reasons why I didn`t get into the story:
1. When you`ve watched Full Metal Jacket and understood it, games and movies that have pure military based storys turns into a joke.
I`m not saying Full Metal Jacket is unbeatable in military story-telling, but is definitly still the best. Stanley Kubrick is close to beeing a god.
2. The characters looked like dolls, and not humans. I have still to see western devs make lifelike humans in video-games. Don`t argue with me there.
3. When you play a fps you want to shoot, not watch a story. (I forced myself to watch the story. That`s how I play games....)
The best FPS? Not even close. It does nothing to change the genre.
