I agree that Wii fit will outsell Halo 3 eventually but it won't out shine Halo 3's first week sales. The only two games I see at having a crack at that are Super Mario Galaxy and GTAIV and I still don't think those will do better.

I r teh stoopid.  I thought you meant opening week sales on Wii Fit. When does Wii fit release in Japan?  If it happens in November I could see this prediction having some merit though I still don't think it will happen.

As much as I agree with you most times, WiiFit is gonna get DDTed by Master Chief - it's like Jake the Snake vs. The Great Muta. You know it's gonna be a playful affair, but in the end, Muta is gonna get hit with Joshua ...

I like this prediction - Wii Fit will be sold out from day 1.  I don't think Nintendo is going to have 4 million ready for the first week.  Maybe 1 million - 2 million tops.

I think opening week of wiifit in Japan will be bigger than opening week of Halo 3 in Japan.

I admire that you're willing to make a real prediction, as opposed to the weak sauce myself (and most people) put out when asked for predictions. But I don't think this is going to happen...

WiiFit will sell DOUBLE halo3 in the first DAY alone!

Hell, Halo3 numbers cant be real. It's sold more than any Wii game other than Wii Sports and Wii play, which you cant really count, because their not full priced games. 

Halo3 has outsold Zelda. In 1 week. Zelda is a older, cheaper game. With a larger 'console base'.

Not many other nintendo games come near zelda. 

Ok, yup, I think that sums it up. Smaller, older, broken 360 userbase buys more Halo3 games in 1 week, than any Wii game, with new, shiny, non-broken, reliable userbase, total. (minus Wii Sports/Play)

Japan+WiiFit > Halo+WW?

No. Chance. In. Hell.

Nintendo probably won't even have 4m units of WiiFit ready in week one WORLDWIDE, much less Japan. MS only had ~5m copies of H3 ready opening week and that is disc-only. There are a million reasons why WiiFit won't be huge right off the bat:

1. It's geared toward casuals. These people do NOT stand in line for a videogame on opening day.
2. It's a game+add-on. While some games like this (Guitar Hero) do well, they never do *that* well.
3. Hardcore gamers aren't very excited about WiiFit. They're too busy waiting for SSBB and SMG.
4. It will be expensive admidst a holiday season packed with other great games.
5. It will be competing with other expensive add-on casual games (Guitar Hero & Rock Band) that have much more hype behind them right now.

I think Wii Fit will be a tsunami. However, Tsunami's start slowly, build up power, then crush everything in their way. Halo is Microsoft's golden bullet. Starts out insanly powerful, charges forward, smacks into the target (audience) does crazy damage (numbers) and then its over, aside from the bleeding, which I guess could represent trickling sales...

Umm - no way in hell. Not in one week and probably never!
