street fighter 4
Blazblue, marginally.
GOTY Contestants this year: Dead Space 2, Dark Souls, Tales of Graces f. Everything else can suck it.
It's a shame that SFIV didn't have a lobby aka "quarter" match like HD remix and SF 2 Turbo did, otherwise SFIV would be a much bigger winner for me. But BlazBlue has the quarter match and solid online, as well as just a flat out great game. However, since I'm more of a SF then Guilty Gear fan I'd pick SFIV. If I was a guilty gear fanatic I would pick BlazBlue over it. I think it really depends on what type of fighting game you prefer.
Either way both are winners and I'd recommend getting both. Oh, and buy Battle Fantasia new if you can find it! The game has hardly sold any copies (according to VGChartz) and needs some love to!
Don't forget KOF coming out later this month... buy buy buy!
It's just that simple.
loooooooooooooooooool@BlazBlue
It's a pretty game (visually) and it's fun doing nigh infinite combos, but sorry to tell you folks, the mechanics to a good game just are not there. Guilty Gear for that matter is much better than BlazBlue mechanic wise, and BlazBlue seems really dumbed down in regards to how technical a fighter should be. Picking Noel Vermillion was the most hilarious thing I've done in a game. Insane mix ups and damage with a great "Catch me" game that even a mouth breather can pull off!
Don't even get me started on that Ky-Kiske clone and V-13 either!
SF4 (and any other SF game) is leagues ahead of this game competitive wise. SF4 is far from perfect, don't get me wrong. BlazBlue is still fun too, if only for the brokenness of it all :p
By life end:
Street Fighter IV!
I challenge anyone to a 5 round match with me! As long as you promise to keep my PSN ID a secret.

Neither does SF IV.
BlazBlue easy.
The correct answer here is that as an individual game and fighting mechanics - SF4 > Blazblue
However when you consider that SF4 is the 30th SF game and that Blazblue is the 1st game for that series. - Blazblue > SF4
I guarantee that no one here played Blazblue long enough to say "mechanics are broken" or that its unbalanced(including myself)...so people saying this really need to back up their claims.
