Forums - PC Discussion - WoW subscriptions down to 5 million

Now we just need the Old Republic to jump in and kick WoW while it's down.....ok it's not really down and will continue on for years to come, but I think the market is ready for another game to come in and take WoW's place. Most people I know(myself included) have gotten tired of the same old WoW experience and dropped their accounts by now.

Every man should dedicate a year to a MMO at least once in their lifetime.

I think I'm up to something like 8.....

1.5 years Everquest

1.5 years DaoC

4 months Shadowbane ( I want those back !)

1.5 year Star Wars Galaxy

6 months Everquest 2.

4 years Wow so far

Wow, you're a veteran!  Seems you're counting them chronologically too without much parallel MMO playing.

Everquest probably very early 2000's, then DAOC in 2002-2003 and so on, rite?

Yeah it's chronological , I never played 2 MMOs at the same time.( did try City of Heroes and Lineage 2 too after Daoc but didn't play them long enough for it to be worth mentionning).

Wow is probably my last MMO too.

I got heavilly into console gaming a few years ago and I don't think I would pick up another MMO if I was to leave Wow ( but I would hate loosing all my wow friends, I have been playing online with the same people 5-6 days a week for the last 3 years).

PS3-Xbox360 gap : 1.5 millions and going up in PS3 favor !

PS3-Wii gap : 20 millions and going down !

So we're supposed to believe a blog made by an unknown user? k

What is the biggest MMO in China?

If you want a serious answer ZT online:

http://zt.ztgame.com/

Kind of normal that 2 million gamers are playing it at the same time.

Kind of sick because you then get overcrowded servers:

It is a great game. It is popular especially because it is free.  You only have to pay (to cheat).  Are you level 10 and you want to be level 20 then you have to pay for it.

@Slimebeast: The recent WoW bosses have these sort of "hard mode" ways to kill bosses (gives better loot and stuff). Sort of like different difficulties. I believe the one Stars killed was a big deal because people theorycrafting it didn't think it was possible... or something. (I don't raid)

Whatever, it's still a world first. The normal bosses are easier nowadays, so more guilds can enjoy the content.

He had been killed in 10 man mode, that Chinese video is the world first "heroic" or 25 man kill.

Mao's red star, 1.1 billion users.

Never heard of it. Thanks for the info though.

Rofl, do you go to school?

Gotta love Chinese "red" tape.

It's cuz Lich King xp blew donkey turds. I wished I would have stuck with BC.

Actually, the fact that China HASN'T gotten WOTLK proves how full of crock this number is, since WOLK launched with over 2.8 million sales in 24 hours, and was numero uno forever on the sales charts, showing that those aren't ghost accounts. The Chinese government tried to stiffle the game, but failed, and are now going to direct assaults on it, but that too will fail.
