Forums - Nintendo Discussion - boo! Gamespot reviews Dragon Blade Wrath Of fire, gives it a 4

As usual the trash anything wii related. Ign was tough on it, but fair giving it I think a 5.7.

Honestly, there's not a huge difference between a 4 and a 5.7.  Most games that consistently score below a 6 are all pretty crappy.

It looked crappy to me right from the beginning.... sorry... but the screens looked all kind of the same, not an interesting style, lousy graphics... Spitting out at IGN and Gamespot is just the beginning when you'll take a look at this list:

I wouldn't dare to look at scores from EGM or Edge when they're in, 1 and 2?

Having rented the game I can now definitely say it deserves a 2-4/10 but not for the controls as GS says. The graphics are so horrific that aside from a few effects look like something the N64 could have handled with the 8MB of higher performance RAM and larger texture buffer it was supposed to have. There were invisible walls everywhere, the first game I've played in many years with any much less everywhere. The story sucks, level design sucks, sound sucks, in general everything but the controls sucks. I felt like I was playing a PC hack and slash game from 1999.

As I mentioned though the controls were pretty good. I had no problem with them and the only enjoyable aspect of the game is deciding which attacks to string together for your combo power attack. However, the controls scarcely make up for everything else being so terrible. Oh and no, you can't just waggle wildly and beat them game.

The game could have been cool with another 6 months I think.

GameSpot lost credibility with me when they gave Tales of Destiny a 4.9 and then suggested that it should have never left Japan.

picked it up yesterday, played for about 45 minutes

controls are decent to very well done

graphics are ok

camera is soso

story. about normal

if the company had another ~2 million to invest, it'll be significantly better.

so far i'd give this game about a 6 to 6.5 - good. my 6yr old loves the dragons

I see no problem with this score

it was a pretty sub-standard game so I'm more than comfortable seeing it get a crappy score. Why is everyone so insistant that this was anything more than a rushed two bit developer's gesture towards a hack & mash Wii game?

Maybe if it wasn't raited T for Teen you could argue it would be great for kids, but the game is just honestly "bleh".

Sword Fighting with Wiimote =/= Automatic great game.
