It's first two weeks of sales are quite comparable to Mario Strikers Charged, which, in North America sold 114k first week, and 64k second week, before falling to less than 10k/week in a few months.

Mario Strikers Charged has gone on to sell 2m copies.

http://vgchartz.com/games/game.php?id=6976&region=All

That being said, even if it had gotten 300k sales first week, some people would come in and call it a flop, comparing it to Halo and Killzone 2. People are going to again call it a flop, or say sales are terrible when it launches in Europe (no matter what the actual sales are), and again when weekly sales fall to below 10k/week.

Funny enough that's how much KZ2 sold at launch in the US.

Oh, wow, you're right. KZ2 "only" sold 360k first week US. For some reason I was under the impression that it sold about 750k US first week. That was actually the worldwide total. :-/

I'm curious as to how Christmas will boost both their sales. Both are the premier exclusive online FPS for their console, so I imagine they'll make it into a number of stockings. KZ2 (and possibly Conduit too) will be overshadowed by MW2, but they should still be on several people's wishlists, especially if they get dropped to budget prices.

Yeah MW2 will be a big one, though with no MW2 on Wii announced that gives the Conduit a little more room to work with, they really should use a little money to advertise during the holidays, if nothing else parents looking for something for their teenage son will be like "Hey he likes shooters, this one got "best shooter of the year on Wii" from IGN and Ninteno magazine I'll pick this up for him"

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

Wii Friend Code - 5882 9717 7391 0918 (PM me if you add me), PSN - MaxwellGT2000, XBL - BlkKniteCecil, MaxwellGT2000

To MaxwellGT2000,

You make a good point. Especially since the game is rated T and not M, parents should be more optimistic about buying a shooter for their kids.

When the hell did the Conduit start getting compared to Killzone 2 or Halo 3?

It didn't even have a third of development time, hype or budget yet because its a first person shooter we MUST compare it too those games?

Why not, I don't know just play the game and say if the game is good or not? Not drag this system wars shit (spoilers, PC's are always better)

Yeah... and there was ton of The Conduit threads.

Either way Killzone 2 sold considerably more the first week in the US alone.

They aren't the fraction of the amount of Killzone 2 threads which we've been seeing since 2005.

And Killzone 2 had lackluster sales considering that it was the second coming.

And Conduit is going to have to ship up if HVS is going to be the next Rare.

Wait, Rare now, Rare Xbox days, Rare N64 days, or Rare SNES days.

If I had to list those in order it'd basically be right in the middle.

Rare SNES

Rare N64

HVS

Rare 360

Rare Xbox

And game wise I'd say I like The Conduit multiplayer more then Golden Eye or Prefect Dark multiplayer, so they're trying.

A single HVS game on the Wii has had a bigger impact than all the Rare games on MS consoles?

Granted those Rare games haven't been great in my opinion... but HVS doesn't deserve to be above Rare just yet.

Well these are the numbers that I have got

94469 week 1
61947 week 2
40621 week 3
26636 week 4
17446 week 5

If all goes well the conduit should have 241,119 units sold. It won't be too far off of 300k. Hopefully it will be able to leg at 18k for a little while. I am not sure if the Conduit will be able to hold out to enjoy a holiday boost. If it does then it has a good chance of getting to or exceeding 500k in NA alone.

95% of gamers don't know they are noobs, the 5% who do won't be noobs for long

Wow, you broke the sales down to the exact number. You know your shit!

I think I predicted 500 or 750k lt for this (probably the former) but that may be too low. We'll see how the legs hold, this isn't a Nintendo title so the stride will be smaller at any rate.
Those are decent salesfor the first two weeks if they're 100 - - 50, a 50% drop-off is completely normal for a core game of this type (didn't SSBB and Mario Kart also drop off 50% in week 2?).

nope its 95--60...

So its less than a 50% drop...  More like 35%

Yes. that's the law.

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
