someone may defend that conduit doesn't need to reach 1mil to make profit, but anything less than a mil, others will see it as flop.

Actually, unless my math is horribly wrong and/or I'm being lied to, it probably needs to sell more than 2 million to do that.

How can you consider this a flop? Look at games like this. The conduit already outsold the first 10 weeks of Endless Ocean in America by far, and outsold its first 4 weeks in all regions. Thats just with the America sales! So the Conduit is set to sell more than 1.5m in my eyes ;)

I'm wonder what Peter Wanat is doing right now?

That's impossible, hardly any games make it to the 2m mark. Especially games like MadWorld. Plus it says "to make a considerable profit". So I doubt this is any indication on how much they would need to sell to turn a profit.

Forget all the Killzone 2 comparisons.  The Conduit only compares to Killzone 1 in that it is a game that its players like despite being panned by some sites.

I submit to you that The Conduit should be compared to Perfect Dark Zero (for obvious reasons) but also in sales.  The Conduit will get a boost because it is the premiere online FPS on Wii and will remain so for a long time.  Perfect Dark Zero got a sales boost by being a 360 launch title... and even though the sales curve is slightly different because it is a 360 launch title (slightly more front loaded), I predict The Conduit will end up with similar ltd sales unless another 3rd party puts out some competition before The Grinder comes out...

Drinking.

Crying.

Taking long hard looks at his revolver.

All of the above.

Yes, but The Conduit probably cost a lot more to make than MadWorld, so if it takes 2 million for the latter to make a "considerable" profit, it'll probably take that much just for The Conduit to break even. For starters, it uses more than three colors, so you know it cost way more to make.

The sales are alright. For the Wii, I guess.

I guess you guys don't consider the fact that alot of the cost of The Conduit was the engine which they will reuse over and over again?

Then I wonder what the creators of Killzone 2 are doing? That's probably not going to sell 2m and probably had a budget double the size of the Conduit's. I doubt the conduit will need more than 1M to break even.

Ah, but remember it's having colors that makes a game pricey, and Killzone 2's pallete is made up of brown, grey, and black. That's three colors. So it's in MadWorld range. And since this site has it over 2 million, they can now celebrate over in Holland!
