I don't have anything for the DS to play non-regulation games, but I don't want people to get bricked either.

 

The "leaked" version of Dragon Quest IX is malware. The ROM was dumped early on to Japanese bulletin board 2chan and is actually a hentai slideshow show called "DS Owata".

Maybe download "Dragon Quest IX JPN DSi Enchanced NDS iND" if you'd like a hentai slideshow? Oh, this bricks your DS. Buying it legally does not.

I wish more studios would spread malware versions of their game on pirate sites before release.

I would love it if pirates got the their 360's and DS's bricked and PC users getting their system wiped due to them being greedy fucks.

I read this from one of the commenters on Kotaku... interesting...


"This was first released by Darkfader a very long time ago to protest commercial piracy and bricked several DS systems. He later apologized. If you run this on your DS or DS Lite, it is likely very bricked (there are hardware flashing solutions but they're complex and you'll have to look them up), unless you have Flashme installed (very few people do since the advent of slot-1 flashcarts). This will not affect DSi, though. "

Hey someone just found a way to kill piracy. If companies spam this all over the internet piracy would be very much reduced.

I honestly believe that if a week or two before a game is released just every few days have some person leak a verion that either bricks consoles or wipes hard drives and then go on pirate sites and say the version is legit that it would reduce how much that game gets pirated.

I don't know if it would be a hugely significant amount, but it sure would be fun, and hey, the only people you'd piss off are the ones that aren't buying the game anyways.

Sooo... all the people and companies that put out viruses, trojans, and all kinds of nasty malware that totally ruin the user's PC are now all of a sudden apparently doing a good thing?

If they don't want the virus, don't pirate the game.

Besides, officially, that studio wouldn't even be involved.

Anyone who downloads something like this kinda deserves to have their DS bricked. Not because i'm against piracy, but just for general idiocy.
