The Turtles have been in Archie Comics.

Just sayin'...

First, that link is broken.

Second, relevance? Why does everyone assume I'm pissed that rabbids are in the game when I believe I've made it more than perfectly clear that the problem is the lack of TMNT-characters in favor of said rabbids.

Have you paid much attention to the Turtles in the past quarter century?  Usagi is owned by Stan Sakai, and is set in an entirely

different universe that just happens to have plot decive portals to it. The Turtles have teamed-up with Flaming Carrot, Savage Dragon, Cerebus,

and apparently soon they are even going to team-up with themselves. (Old Cartoon and New according to hints at their website.) It is completely

keeping with Ninja Turtle tradition to have some guest stars in the game made by other guys. It really is. Arguing that the Turtle-verse is somehow tainted by working with other liscenses is not knowing your Turtle history.

Also, I doubt every Turtle Fan is going to have all their favorites in the roster no matter what. Each incarnation of the Turtles has had different companies work on it. And these companies own the rights to some of the characters in the various incarnations. Beebop and Rocksteady are prime examples. I would love to have a kick-ass roster with all the greats, but it's not gonna happen. Utron shredder is not likely to fight Krang. The mutanimals, Venus, Tokka, Razhar, Usagi, and amany of the other characters from Turtle lore are simply never going to be in the same place at once.  Give me a line-up with decent characters from the Turtles and I will be happy. A few easter egg characters is beside the point. Did you moan so loadly when a Halo character appeared in DOA 4? IT is the same deal. Liscenses alinged with the stars and the Turtles had a sidekick from whatever company they were working with.

This is still a Turtles game foremost with a easter egg cameo. Give me a game that plays well and a top 20 selection of the Turtles best allies and villians and I won't compain.

You're totally missing the point. I've never said it's tainted by doing crossovers or anything of the sort - I'm saying they're putting rabbids in before showing us a competent TMNT roster. So far we've got, what, the four turtles, April, Casey Jones and Shredder? Yeah, fucking fantastic.

Everyone wants to see a good TMNT game, and if all they have to show us are some random rabbids, the whole things gets shadowed with doubt.

Ok so 4 Turtles, April, Casey, Shredder- Those are the only characters to remain the same -mostly- with the different variations with the omission of Splinter. Of course they woulde be announced first. After that it depends on 1. which eras of the franchise do they/can they include and 2. Which versions of which character. My money is on characters close in design to the Second Cartoon and the CG Movie. I would not count out prior incarnations entirely, based on the fact that it is the Turtles 25th birthday. There is talk of Beebop and Rocksteady possibly showing up in some sort of crossover with their 80's animated selves.  I think it is posible to get one or two characters out of left field.

After the primary characters, there are only a few that show up in mutiple versions. When the final line-up is out we can be a better judge. I see the rabbid inclusion as a stunt like Sonic or Snake or Vader and Yoda. They announced it early for hype. That does not mean they are ignoring the Turtles, just that they thought this gimmick would get people interested. I am not saying they were right, but I don't see a reason to doubt it based on that.

Doubt it because the last Ubisoft/Turtles games was crap. Doubt it because the gamecube fighting game was crap. Doubt it because we haven't had a decent Turtles game since maybe '03 or '04 and we haven't had a great one since the 90's.  Don't doubt it for a silly pr move that could have been timed better.

Let's see the full roster before we freak, and accept the fact that a Ninja Turtle game is like an x-men game in that there are too many great characers to include every one in every game. I expect a few of my favorites to not be included the first time around. I'm ok with that as long as I get a good game.

Now, if they announce Vanilla Ice as a playable character I'm walkin. "Go, Ninja. Go" my ass.

Where did I say I thought you were pissed?  I just poste that cuz I thought it was relevant, this being a thread regarding the turtles and crossovers.

Could I trouble you for some maple syrup to go with the plate of roffles you just served up?

"Ok, girl's trapped in the elevator, and the power's off.  I swear, if a zombie comes around the next corner..."

The problem is that this was billed as a celebration of Ninja Turtles history. People feel like they haven't seen that celebration, with all their favorite characters, and now instead they are getting an advertisement for other Ubisoft games. That's a raw deal, and don't pretend it isn't.

If you took out all the characters and replaced them with sock puppets, you could theoretically have the same "gameplay." But no one cares about the gameplay if there isn't a great context for that gameplay. Suddenly the context of "a celebration of Ninja Turtles history" is being pissed on.

An appropriate "cameo" or "easter egg" would be a single, unlockable Rabbid, dressed as a Ninja turtle. Then it would still be in the spirit of "a celebration of Ninja Turtles history." Instead there are two different versions of Rabbids announced before TMNT characters that people in this thread are calling shoo-ins.

Couldn't have said it better myself.

Well, unless the Pr arm and programming arm of ubisoft are the same I still see no reason to be pissy. They are unrelated, and may not always help the other. The pr wing being asshats is not something to hold against the programming wing. It's a stunt- big deal. We cannot say positively that the rabbids were programmed at the expense of Turtle lore, just that they were hyped at it.

And you do know how much the rabbids sell on the Wii, right? So including characters from your most profitable line is bad? They did a pr move to court a wider gaming audience. How dare them.

If the line-up end up being 50% ubisoft franchise and 50% turtles then I see the complaint. Until then, let's wait.

Exactly. That's why i'm only mildly annoyed by this, instead of up in arms. We can only judge the damage that the Rabbids' inclusion has done after we see the whole roster.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I'm pissed!  Now, I can't play as THIS GUY!!

It made me slightly more interested. I mean anything + rabbids is pretty much gonna be better- even mediocre mini-games.
