The slide started with NFS Most Wanted and has been particualrly damning with NDS : Carbon.

Since  NFS : Most Wanted, EA has gradually started shifting its lead development platform from the PS2 to 360.

EA might be spending too much time chasing the extra 10$ bonus next gen versions (X360&PS3) provide and losing out on their lead sales platform. Madden 07 sold almost 2.25M on its first week, compared to that Madden 08 barey managed to break 1.5M copies.

EA is clearly losing sales by setting their priorities on the worng platforms.

I used to love need for speed, the original for the playstation was one of my favorite games of all time. The early ones were packed full of exotics and high priced sports cars most people will never afford, or even see on the street, thats what I loved about it when I was a kid(although I have been lucky enough in my older years to get behind the wheel of a few of these cars). Who wants to race with a nissan or honda with NOS and body kit and stupid rainbow paint. I mean, come on. I see those cars flying by everyone in the slow lane everyday on the way to work, while trying to get me to race, its really annoying. Anyways, it would be nice if they came out with a NFS: Classic or something, that really brought the game back to its exotic roots.

Currently Playing:

PS4 - Killzone:SF and Assasins Creed 4

XBox One: BF4, CoD:Ghosts, Dead Rising 3, Forza 5

Changing channels with my voice: priceless!!!

I hate how much tweaking a lot of the games have, with the stupid underground racing stuff.

Just throw me in a race against cars, and perhaps throw some cops behind me! I don't want to spend an hour working on my pimped out ride so I can drag race...

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

They need to stop releasing so many NFS games, and work on one for a long time and really polish it up, then it will actually sell well. They're releasing these games too closely together. People don't want to buy another NFS game so soon after the previous one, especially if the quality isn't up to par.

I think THQ is suffering with their driving series.

DiRT(theirs?), Stuntman Ignition, Juiced 2: Hot Import Nights

All have been commercial flops, thus far. TONS of advertisement, but barely decent sales.

They did what destroyed many good searies, they tryed to cash in to many times, great games need at least over one year to cool down... maybe even two or three years, NFS had a great start, the cops and robbers version was fun too... then came the pimp my ride version which was fine too (worked well with the fast and the furiout thing going on back then) but now they have run out of places to go.

Exactly Im the same way.  Im not much of a car dude and so I really don't care about hooking the car all out of the yin yang.  I just want to race and have fun Im not one for wanting to have a ton of designs on my car and stuff like that.

Yes, I totally agree. They are killing it with too many releases. I bought NFS Most Wanted when I first got my 360. Then they released Carbon and Pro Street is coming. Or is it out already?

But they need to space these out more.

PS360 ftw!

Currently playing..........

Gears of War 2, GTA IV Lost and Damned, Little Big Planet (Yes I said I had no interest but my girl wanted to try it and we did and now Im hooked )

Carbon sucked big time.

I really liked the Most Wanted Edition with cops & Robbers, I'd really like to see them bring that back.

They really need to revamp the serious for a little bit more realism and REALLY boost the graphics. Forza is killing them.

Yeah, the market is pretty glutted with racing games these days. I find myself just brushing past them, as they rarely seem much different from each other. I'd suspect a similar mentality has been affecting sales.
