Argh. This is not a good thread to see when visiting the site for the first in ages. -_-

Look, Valve is not a very large company. They have a limited amount of resources, and after putting the numbers together, decided to not support the PS3. It's not stupid or lazy to not avoid unprofitable investments. If they could manage PC+360+PS3 multiplats with their resource AND it'd be worth it, then of course they'd do it. Valve is a company, which means they're in it for the money.

Seriously, wtf is wrong with half the people in this thread? Are the mods being too easy on the banhammer again?

And then I play HL2 again and realize HL2 is still one of the best FPS games ever made, period. And there are a ton of reasons for this too and it isn't jsut because of the graphics (which are amazing).

The story is very deep with a ton of background that spans a time period of over 40 years. Half the story you don't even get to see but you hear what happened and have to figure out what you, and the G Man, caused.

Character development is another strength of the franchise. Each character is uniquely different and has their own personality.

The physics in the game are perfect.

Enemy AI is actually very well done. One of the smartest AIs found the in genre.

 

So before you start saying KZ2 is better then everything on the 360 stop and realize Half-Life 2 is on the platform and eats KZ2 for breakfast.

I returned it lol, that's old news by now, I'm a PC gamer too, consoles look like ass anyways so I don't really care about graphics on consoles.

I think people are just angry that it reminds them about how lazy all the PS3 exclusive studios are in releasing for only one platform. Its insecurity I tell you!

Regarding your respect for Blizzard... they tend to publicly scoff at the idea of ever porting their software to consoles, with clear distain that comes across as consoles being toys incapable of properly handling what a PC can handle.  Personally, I disagree with them, but I'm not going to call them poor quality developers because of it... they've made their platform choices, and I can respect that.

You should send an email to them and ask when their going to port Starcraft, Warcraft, World of Warcraft, Diablo, etc. to consoles.  You will probably get a polite reply stating that they have no current plans to address those platforms, but if you get a chance to talk to someone at Blizzard (I happen to know someone who works there) and they really open up, you will probably hear a lot of laughter at the suggestion.  I don't take it personally... it's just a difference of opinion.

Interestingly, they (Blizzard) allowed ports of both Warcraft and Diablo onto the PS1 back in the day.

Don't know whats stopping them from allowing a similar port to consoles today.

You hate valve because they don't have the same beliefs as you? Since when do consoles become so powerful and godly that people hate developers who prefer other consoles? I guess you hate Bethesda too, after Fallout 3 came out completely inferior to the PC and 360 versions. The worst part is that it was because of the technology in the PS3 and not Bethesdas fault. There are a lot of PS3 games that are exclusive to the PS3 that devs say cannot be done on the 360. Do all people get mad?....no.....they buy PS3's. Take me for instance.
