Batman Arkham Asylum

360/PS3/PC

Is the world ready for a good Batman game? From gameplay trailers to the enthusiastic praises and glowing previews from media and fans alike, Batman Arkham Asylum is set to make its debut this August and bring about the definitive Batman expirience to gamers everywhere.

The premise of the game is simple: Batman has once again capture his mortal nemesis the Joker; bringing him back to Gotham's notorious Arkham Asylum however, has triggered a trap set by the Joker and Batman is now stuck on an island packed with the most insane and dangerous criminal element of Gotham.

The premise allows for the congregation of some of the most iconic supervillains in Batman's history, all ready take the Dark Crusader down.

The game plays like a mix of stealth/action/beat'em-up offering players the choice of being both cunning and confrontational. The graphic so far looks great, the story feels tight, the fanservice are present in abundance and the gameplay looks simple enough to pick-up and play AND has the potential to contain a lot more depth.

Not convinced? Don't just take my word for it, feast your eyes on the below:

Poison Ivy

Not enough hype for this game, which I feel is a shame as it looks like some developers are FINALLY listening to real gamers and treating their borrowed IP right. Good game that uses comic book IP are rare and far between. First the reboot of the Batman movies and now this, the Dark Crusader is on fire!

There was some good batman games on the NES. Also some other good movie games are lion king snes and aladdin Sega Gen. But, you are right it has been a very long time since a good game from a movie/show has been out. That one seems promiseing.

I'm ready! looks awesome and I can't wait to play it, too bad it comes 3 weeks after Hearts of Iron 3, but whatever! also, it comes out in the same day that RF:G will be released on PCs (but I'm not really excited for that one)

the words above were backed by NUCLEAR WEAPONS!

Played the demo. This won't be AAA. Its a mindless brawler... fun but 0 replay value. Too easy to counter too.

I certainly won't be playing this game as a mindless brawler, I have Dynasty Warrior for that. Batman is all about stealth and ambush. Watch the walkthrough video highlighting the stealth element (second video). THAT is Batman, not some mindless 'the Bouncer' wannabe.

Is the demo is out?  If so I'm going to dl it today, this game looks pretty fun.  Also, I thought there was a lot of stealth involved too, and the enemies aren't scripted, so that should give some replay value, but I guess I could see how this could play as a brawler too, just the videos I've seen show the player using stealth to even the numbers.

True, although I feel none of them have capture the 'feel' of Batman like Arkham Asylum. There is still a chance that this game could be trashed in the final product but I have high hope that this will be the first GOOD Batman game where it feels like I'm actually playing Batman.

I can't wait for this game to release, it really feels like the first real Batman game to me!

I played aladdin when it came out and enjoyed it, never played the lion king though.
