Cloud...(wtf is cloud!???) Of course some random social networking program is going to compete with possibly the two hugest social networking sites in existence. Gasp!!! Sony is adding a feature that Live has had since the begginning of the 360??? All hail PSN, by far the best console online service around. How about voice messaging? Simplified UI? Party chat in games, on the dashboard AND in other venues of entertainment? Instant reporting of abuse and native muting capabilities? How about making a headset more available, especially one that doesn't drop dead after 3 weeks? These are just the technicalities.

Couldn't both of those lines be applied to the ps3 as well?  Each ps3 now comes with at least an 80gb HDD, compared to 20gb and 60gb HDDs at launch, and the number of PSN titles released constantly grows.  Then there's ps1 titles hitting the network, like FFVII and MGS.

Also:

This same logic could be applied to the 360.  We've seen games like Bioshock, Eternal Sonata, Tales of Vesperia, and Ninja Gaiden II all head to the ps3 at a later date.  Also, MGS: Rising was never an exclusive for any platform.  MGS4, as far as I know, is still exclusive.

I think the point you were trying to make with that line is that many of the exclusive franchises the ps2 enjoyed are now multiplatform on the ps3, but that doesn't really apply the topic.  Your topic was a comparison of the current state of the ps3 to the past state of the ps3.  Not the ps3 to the ps2.

When you remove all the fluff, the jist of the OP is this:

The ps3 is more expensive than the 360.  PSN isn't as good as XBL.

well...sony are improving their software...so in that aspect, it isnt getting worse...although it does seem to be improving more slowly compared to microsoft, which is an issue since they were already behind.
