Forums - Sales Discussion - Is Wii's Bubble Bursting? --First Japan, now UK

We saw what happened in Japan, with PS3 equaling wii.

Now with WSR, wii not getting disappointing rise in sales (check VGC prediction thread for wii WSR rise in Japan)

http://www.vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=78683&page=1

Now UK -- Wii Sales down 69% YOY (feb - Jun)

with xbox 360 outselling wii 2:1 (definetely the most shocking sales info EVER this generation....since PS3 vs GBA in NPD's)

& another shocker, PS3 equaling wii's sales

________

So Japan began this, now its progressed onto UK too.

Will this spread to the rest of europe?

WIll it spread to america?

Is Wii's bubble bursting?

Maybe the casual market is only so big.

Pricecut, or good games is needed.

@carl

well they have to do something

its not just Japan now.....UK too

What a horrible thread, lets wait to see what Wii sports resort does for the wii in the U.S before we judge anything.

mM

when and where did 360 outsell Wii 2:1? What chart are you looking at? Cuz I don't see it in any region at all this year, let alone clumping WW sales.

In short...what are you talking about?

*EDIT*
You're referring to this (http://news.vgchartz.com/news.php?id=4140).  I don't think it carries much weight..WW sales is what really matters.  Also, I forsee a price drop coming for the Wii very soon..and this will all be history=P

The casual market is huge and still relatively untapped.   But pricecut and new good games are needed.

NSMBWii should help but all of Nintendo's announced titles are now red ocean and no longer going to pull in new gamers.

Oh noezzzz!!! wii iz doomedzzzzz

perhaps the casuals have found the new shinny object..a.k.a the iphone 3GS or something similar.

Sure why not... it's bursting. But if the leader burst... I'm pretty sure it takes everyone down with it. Which last I checked isn't a good thing. Considering the market, we knew Wii was going to go down but I don't think anyone expected this much. But what is even worse is no one is moving up to take Wii's place... which is bad. Meaning if it continues we could have a very poor market for the next couple of years... unless something magical happens.

Of course over reacting to over reactions are already fun, let's wait til all 3 financial reports to better assess the situation.

Well, in Japan, Wii still outsells 360 and PS3 but I think it's very interesting to follow the sales of the consoles in UK for the next half year (especially the time around christmas).
