Forums - Sony Discussion - Uncharted 2 falters, no local co-op for Uncharted 2

Good! Thankyou Naughty Dog for making the right decision.

Won't Uncharted 2 be having co-op online missions/campaign?

If that's the case, then it's a little disappointing that they wouldn't allow it for non-online.

But having said that, it's not a big disappointment. One of the things I enjoyed about Uncharted 1 was that they didn't have multiplayer because it didn't feel right in that game. Obviously they made it possible for this game, so if Naughty dog don't believe local co-op is a good idea, I'll trust them.

Isn't this becoming increasingly common? I imagine that if you want a good looking game, you won't have co-op of some sort or another. Yeah, it's a negative, but not much of one. Halo 3 is one of the leading games in the shooter genre that has splitscreen co-op, but it also has below average graphics.

Furthermore Halo 3 sales are an indication of how unimportant SplitScreen is...

All Jokes aside....

Uncharted feels almost akward since it looks like it should Campaign Co-op....But from what I have seen of Uncharted 2...well...Let me just say it looks good..

tbh I think SCE should push Splitscreen way more than they do. The only game that I can think of on top of my head is Resistance and Warhwak, but they should have tried SS in U2 it's basically gears 2 with jumping

If the difference between Uncharted and Gears is just jumping, and Gears has co-op and Uncharted doesn't....then maybe jumping in splitscreen is just too complex and it would make the system asplode

I would rather have splitscreen then beautiful graphics

this is the problem at the moment. each new game is pushing developer knowledge in terms of game making so there is no way they can make local co-op work well without downgrading things like visual and audio quality of the single player.

all game consoles, including the PS3, cannot handle the single player level of graphics in a co-op or multiplayer form. they are to weak to handle it.

I wouldn't have ever used it ever anyway. Ever.

No friends?

This is actually disappointing. I never play online, and after having so much fun with RE5, I was looking forward to playing this coop with my brother.

Oh well, I'm still buying it
