Is it just me or are there far more disagreements over how good a jRPG is than any other genre. I don't think I can think of a single game for which some people think it is the worst game ever and others think that is the greatest game ever

God it was so hard for me to avoid this post, but I did . I guess I'm maturing a bit.

Yeah, honestly if someone doesn't like all of those stories they probably shouldn't play jRPG's in general.

now now Zexen, we can't hate on the guy just because he doesn't like some fantastic stories.  Could just hate the genre, and for some reason he just keeps bringing himself back to it.

Yeah. Chrono Cross and Tales of the Abyss had a fantastic storyline. Persona 3's was good but it had waaaaaaayyyyyy to much down time to keep me captivated thoughout the whole game. Good thing Persona 3 had awesome gameplay and Junpei.

Thank god! I mean, when the story of a game makes you like the characters after a while, you know it's not bad writing at all. I think people who hated the game are just too rational and never really liked Star Trek in the first place. It's not a fantasy game so much, and it has good sci-fi elements in it. That's instant win in my book. The character interaction was fine, I mean you know what you have to know about every character in the important cutscenes, then you can do the sidequests to learn more about the world you're visiting and stuff. It's typical JRPG stuff, but it's good.

At first, I hated Faize because I thought he was "kind of girly" (yeah, believe it or not. I have nothing against those people though), but then you grow to like his character more and more. I have to admit Sarah shouldn't have been included in the game. She's the only one I didn't care about even after completing the game (it seems like they didn't really emphatize on her character so much).

On-topic: I have nothing to contribute to this thread! I mean, I can't really choose one. My main problems I have with RPGs are mostly gameplay-wise. So, I question myself, did anyone play a bad RPG? I mean a REALLY bad one?

Oh wait, scratch that: Add Oblivion to that list. You want a plain world and a game that lasts 4 hours and then you're done with nothing interesting to do but get achievements? That's the game for ya!
