HVS was really sloppy when it came to stuff like this. Leaving the config file in plaintext was also really dumb. Though it opens up some interesting experimental possibilities like increasing the number of particle effects.

config file?

This game looks great! I somehow forgot all about it. I was in the video games store, and didn't even go into the Wii section. If the online matchmaking and speed is good enough, then I'll be buying this game soon enough.

Matchmaking takes like a minute or 2 to get everyone (this is from random play).

I've played at least many online matches, none were laggy.

Absolutely true.  I have a good friend who hacked his 360 and just recently hacked his Wii and is burning games for both.  He playing Wii Sports Resort right this minute - burned the Japanese version.

Its on the disc and dictates some of the parameters of the game like number of effects that can be done simultaniously. One cool thing is that it technically allows you to run the game at 720p, though obviously the Wii can't output or handle that res. Anyways I'm gonna bet a lot of the hackers took ripped the game, modded the config file and burned/USB it onto their Wii. If that is the case I don't see how HVS or Ninty could stop it. Why they didn't add these parameters to the binary, and left them somewhat excessable is beyond me.

Cheaters are bad, cheaters that pirate are evil.

Janitor and Dreadpool are both hackers, using unlimited health, ammo, and a "teleportation" type movement. It wasn't lag, on a couple occasions they simply were shooting at other people while not moving- I shot them repeatedly and they didn't lose any health. Also I was in a free for all match of 6, all 5 of my opponents were hacking. It was pretty disheartening.

Edit your signature or you will be banned. Aww :(

This is why patches are a good thing. You can't eliminate all hackers, but you can at least make them rare. I fear this will quickly become a Mariokart DS or Metroid Prime Hunters, where all public game consist almost entirely of hackers. Am I mistaken or did COD:WAW actually get a patch on wii? Maybe HV can do that for the conduit.

The server for COD got an update to eliminate hackers. I think it could be done the same with conduit. Hackers in Mario Kart Wii got banned.

That is the problem with online games, not only on the wii but on xbox360 and ps3 mp-games too. But in the end there are not as much hackers, but some people who loose a game often made hackers responsible, as if there where thousands of them.

What is all this hacking talk? Someone told me they hacked their Wii and can now download Wii games free of charge? This is like some sort of mad scientist shit. I've had nothing but enjoyable experiences on The Conduit Online, though when I added a friend who apparently DL the game illegally my online games would freeze..So unfortunate some ppl do things like that. I took him off the list.

hahahaha @ bolded.

So it's well established that TC SP is derivative and very standard fare. The MP mode may now face some very serious problems in public matches if this turns out to be legit, but it seems fishy at the moment. Don't think I believe this is going to be widespread quite yet.

Curious to see if they patch it, and what'll happen to online play.
