Forums - General Discussion - Calling all CANADIANS! Please help me find a Canadian University!!!!

All right, I'm about to enter my senior year of high school here in America and I'm considering going to an Uni north of the border!!

First off I want to Major in thre science field, probably some sort of mathematics or chemistry program.

Of these Universities which are respectable and a decent price for international students.

York University, University of Western Ontario, Dalhousie University,  University of Manitoba, and University of Ottawa.

If you could help me find international tuition fees and room and board along with admission requirements it would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!!

Going to Canada from the US to go to college.

That's kinda like going from Italy to France to get Italian food.

You'd be better served just calling up these people yourself... both in finding out, and possibly networking to get in.

There is a Canadian news magazine called Maclean's, and they publish an annual guide to Canadian universities. The also publish an annual ranking of Canadian universities based on factors like program quality, class sizes, undergraduate experience, etc. You may want to see if you can obtain a copy of it.

International tuition fees for each university are usually easy to find on each university's website. I was able to find a break down of York's fees in about 30 seconds.

That is also quite a good comparison site for Canadian universities.

You have a Fighting Illini avatar and are contemplating attending college in Canada? How dare you abandon the Big Ten!

Due to our shitty state government, 1 year at illinois is now up to 33k for in state students. Ridiculous!

Are you certain you are not confusing U of I with Northwestern? U of M's out-of-state tuition is approximately $33,000, and I am dubious that Illinois' in-state tuition is comparable to U of M's out-of-state tuition.

Allright it is at 30k but by the time I enroll in fall 2010 it will be at or around 33k. I know it is much higher compared to other big ten public schools, but that's what I get for living in a state with a uber liberal government.

For Northwestern University it is about 45-50k a year.

Holy smokes... I paid only about $3300 a year in tuition.

Mine was, of course, heavily subsidized though.

University Of Ottawa, then you can hang out with me! I dont go there but Im in Ottawa
