Nope. Sorry Im just gonna have to disagree. I know what youre trying to say about Sypmphonia being the recognizable name but I dont buy it. Tales of is Tales of. The series has 1 million fanbase not just Symphonia.

Tales of does not have a 1 million fanbase. If that would actually be true, then they would have actually bought Abyss and Vesperia in America.

Yea will tell WoW that because Im not the person who originally said it. If "Symphonia" has a 1 million fanbase then so does Tales Of right? You cant say Symphonia has 1 million fanbase and use that as an excuse for bad sales of DotNW but meh sales for Vesperia. Those Symphonia sales are Tales of sales so Vesperia also had 1 millions users to feed off right?

Not at all.

"Tales of" is not well-known enough on its own to have a fanbase as large as its most popular game. Tales of Symphonia was a perfect storm on the Gamecube, and no other Tales game since that has come close to its success.

No, Vesperia did not have one million users to feed off of. Firstly, most of Symphonia's sales were on the Gamecube, and there's nothing to indicate that those owners would have bought a 360 thereafter. Secondly, Tales of Symphonia wasn't recognized as part of a brand by most of those buyers - it was just one game.

"Tales of" doesn't exist for the average buyer.

Is there anything to indicate that the gamecube owners bought a Wii? DotNW wasnt marketed and was known more as Knight of Ratatosk and Dawn of the New World than "Tales of Sypmhonia 2" right? Im still not buying it though. Im still saying if Symphonia had a million than Vesperia had a million.

Kinda off-topic but what the hell did happen with Symphonia? Why did that game off all get to a million and on the god damn gamecube. Id really like to know....

No, there's nothing to indicate that those same owners bought a Wii. DotnW didn't sell well enough to indicate anything either. Tales just isn't very big.

Vesperia did not have a million. What (I think) is being said here is that "Tales of [Game]" isn't a series that many people recognize. Most people who buy the games probably don't realize it's part of a series.

Symphonia was the perfect storm - anime was hitting a new peak of popularity in 2003 (I think that was the year), Gamecube owners were starved for an RPG, and the game had a cast that included some of the most popular voice actors in animation at the time. It was a once-in-a-lifetime thing.

Tales of Symphonia got to a million because of the "perfect storm" Khuutra mentioned.  It was a strong RPG title on system with a severe shortage of RPGs and it was one that you couldn't get on the PS2.

As for how Tales of Symphonia 2 was marketed, do you own it?  If you own it then pull out the case and look at the box art.  Look at the title and tell me what the three biggest words are next to Wii.  I'll give you a hint, they're not "Knight of Ratatosk."  In fact, "Knight of Ratatosk" isn't even on the box.

Also where are we going to be getting word on a new Fire Emblem, when that happens? TGS?

I don't think the mods bought his crap arguments. No rpg has sold 2 M on the wii? LOL show me a 360 or PS3 one that has. None of the ones release should have hit 2M for any system. As for the low sales, again, we have heard Marvelous say they needed to promote the games and it was their own fault the games did not sell. Lastly, ToS2 sold pretty well, as did FE.

Now Playing: The Witcher (PC)

Consoles Owned: NES, SNES, N64, PS1, PS2, Wii, Xbox 360, Game Boy, DS

As far as I know, that's still just an unconfirmed rumor.

Well yeah, that there will be an announcement in the immediate future is an unconfirmed rumor, but I expect that there will be one at some point. Are Fire Emblems traditionally revealed at TGS or in Famitsu or what?

@WoW and Khuutra
Tell you the truth Im not sure what the hell this argument/debate/converstations really about anymore......

At the perfect storm thing.....well I guess so.

@WoW
I know Knight of Ratatosk isnt. Its Dawn of the New World. Yea Yea I know Tales of Symphonia is the biggest.

Either way a rushed low budget spin-off/sequel on Wii with new users outselling and HD higher budget game is defintily not a terrible or bad seller.

Nintendo doesnt do TGS....

New FE for Wii is unlikely. I rather a fresh new one on DS with 2D sprite work. Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon was huge letdown. That interview a while back with the creators had the idea of an all star cast for a new Fire Emblem. Id love that.
