Alright, it seems people are complaining that there is not enough hype about Super Mario Galaxy 2, so after a long time of thinking and studying, I figured out that we should just start the hype now.

Of course we all know that the actual reason that there's no hype yet for the game is that there is also another Mario game on the way, NSMBW. Of course we can't just let that out, so we just talk about both of those games.

And because the Mario franchise has such a glory past, we can't neglect the old games either. Actually, the real reason why I created this thread was that I have finished Mario Galaxy with Luigi yesterday, and that I have finally been able to finish SMB3 today, so I just want to talk about Mario games now.

For example about things like:

Which Bowser end fight do you think is the best/worst? What kind of fights do you want for the upcoming games?

Which game has the best story/ending? (I was disappointed by SMB3's ending today, btw)

Which worlds/galaxies do you like most in the respective games? What kind of worlds/galaxies to you want to see in the upcoming games?

etc.

I guess you can figure out what I mean. Now keep the responses coming and let the Hype begin!

Bowser at the end of 64 is my favorite. The music, coupled with the atmosphere and platforms breaking made it epic in my opinion.

SMB3's ending was good. I like Galaxy's ending and 64's ending alot too.

Bob-omb Battlefield, Buoy Base Galaxy, Melty Molten Galaxy, Dire Dire Docks, Toy Time Galaxy, Cool Cool Mountain, and several others leave me with many great memories.

The Paper Mario Bowser fight was the best, just for this:

Mario Galaxy 2 is a year away (maybe more), even though it's my most anticipated upcoming game it's way too soon for me to get *omfg holy crap sh*T!! hyped

as for galaxy i loved pretty much the whole game, my fav bowser was the last fight in galaxy. the spring suit was kinda weird though.

btw i recently finished luigi in galaxy too and just started SMB3 (nes) for Wii VC (having so much FUN)

What are you talking about? SMB3's ending is a classic! It's probably the best way they could have ended it. Personally, I love those kind of self-references and pseudo-breaking of the fourth wall.

Now, ironically enough, Galaxy (the best 3D Mario) might have the worst ending, in my opinion. It simply does not live up to the rest of the game's standards. During those climactic final minutes, Galaxy treats us to a red-herring of a villain "masterplan", several non-sequiturs and, to top it off, one of the worst cases of deus ex machina ever seen in a video game. Not even Sunshine was that bad!

I suppose it might have been done intentionally, as a parody, but either way it just pissed me off. And for that I say: Shame on you, Yoshiaki Koizumi.

I'm still more hyped for Galaxy 2 than NSMB Wii, though. I just didn't like the DS game very much.

Yeah, I liked it in the small quantities it was in. I didn't have much trouble using it.

It was bad that the hard Trial Galaxies just recycled the gimmick levels rather than having hard platforming.

I loved NSMB.. maybe it was because I played it the day after I beat the GBA version of SMB3 but I can't see much wrong with that game.

I'm going to go with Mario 64 for my favorite final Bowser fight. Picking him up and throwing him was the best.

As for story, I really don't care for story in my Marios, but you can pick one of the Paper Mario games randomly for me.

I do hope they have some larger more open levels in Galaxy 2. While I liked Galaxy, it would be great if they mixed more Mario 64 type levels in.
