It seems that IGN was looking to bring the overall score down. I'm thinking it should have scored closer to a 9.

You have the game to make that judgment?

No, I read the article from IGN to make that judgement.

Thanks for the question though.

Actually from reading the review I'm surprised they gave it that high.   Inconsistant online and generic gameplay would kill a games score usually.

It's a FPS. The gameplay will be generic. The controls are way above anything else. Also, for some reason, they gave a 9.5 for graphics on Madworld, but only an 8.5 on this. C'mon now.....

Actually, the reviewer made it very clear that calling the game generic would be inaccurate. It just lacks a "gimmick" like vehicles or destructable environments.

Unless places score it lower than they scored COD WAW, I doubt they are looking to bring the overall score down.  (Even if they did score it lower that wouldn't prove anything...)

Considering they only have COD WAW a 8.0, the 8.6 is decent.

It's Official Nintendo Magazine UK that gave it a 76, but gave Call of Duty WAW a 92 that I question...

I am not saying The Conduit is better (but I expect it to be...  in a few days I might answer that after I have played both...), but can it really be that much worse?  Not to mentin that the review score from Nintendo Magazine UK came out when the game wasn't even gold, much less released.

IGN's score is fair (assuming the game is better than COD WAW).

Vehicles and destructable environments are pretty much standard fair now are they not?   Now having a power or throwing blade like in Dark Sector - that's a gimmick.

Personally, I don't care.  Unreal Tournament is my favorite FPS so a pure run and gun is fine with me.
