Forums - Gaming Discussion - No unified friend list for Wii online games

Even if the console has it's own friend list, looks like you'll have to build up you friend list for each online game on Wii. More Details.

Down with nintendo online!!! I've been preaching this since it was announced.

PSN ID: Kwaad

I fly this flag in victory!

the best is to play with some friends and drink some beer or wine playing and talking (or drinking?) is great ... iam not sure if i will ever go online with my wii as long as people visit me to play wii and make party

Beer and wine? Party at Vienna's house. Free alcohol Okay now on to Nintendo's On-line. Having to build a friend's list for each game is completely archaic and unnecessary. I hope Nintendo has more sense than this when it comes to on-line but I still remember their ridiculous stance on on-line for GC.

I can understand a friend-list for the system, but each game that's just silly.

WTF is wrong with Nintendo. There is *NO* possible logic behind this. Friend codes I can understand to protect the kids, but this... god damn'it...

Are there any website the Wii users have to swap Wii-codes?

I suspect the reason for this is that Nintendo doesn't want to provide a centralized location (whether it is a database location, or a save file on the flash memory) where all friends codes are stored ... There are many reasons why Nintendo might not want to do this (you would probably have to have several lists per system for multiple users) but I think that it is the wrong choice ... I think online petitions never work, and email is too impersonal to have an impact so the best approach would be to organize a (polite!!!) letter writing campaign asking Nintendo to reconsider this decision.
