Well on the bright side you can just buy the $199 console and put your hard drive on it. Oh wait... that's the 360. The stores only carry a $399 PS3. I'm very sorry for your expensive loss.

Bye.

1. tell that to the guys that had to replace there 360's 5-12 times a year for the first 2 years, more warrantie or not, it was an issue that even 360 fans got annyoned by at the time.

2. your UPS guy? lmao, o rly? thats a grain of salt my friend.

Lastly, the fact still stands his Launch PS3 outlasts many launch 360's, granted not all, but ALOT. :P

If you are going to troll, at least keep some thought to the statistical improbabilities of what you are saying. Under the worst scenario I can imagine there are ~60 360 owners world wide who would have ever had to replace their system 12 times. Having to do it more than that would get to the point of being completely absurd to even suggest. Given that newer 360s have a far less than 33% failure rate, and refurbished ones are less likely to break as well this is probably an over estimation of the number of people possibly affected.

that was uncalled for, besides he has a launch PS3, if he had a lauch 360 it would have broken ages ago, lulz!!

Extended warranties fixed many of those consoles. So booyah!

Also my UPS guy said he gets A LOT of PS3s. So I'm just saying...

Your comment was almost as bad as his.  Stooping to a fanboy's level solves nothing and only furthers arguments.  You took his comment and turned it into a multi-post debate.

Trolls are what bring the forum down.  Playing along with the trolls only helps carry out their agenda.

Im not trolling, my best bro clide had to return his launch 360 15 times to be honest, though he kept coming back cause he loved gears of war and didnt want to buy a rig PC.

And im not talking about curret 360s so wtf are you talking about?

im talking about LAUNCH consoles, jesus.

Ugh, just let it die...

And 15? Really, that beats the highest number we've yet seen on the internet.

But yeah, this conversation ends here.

I hope you can buy a new one soon, you have to finish Infamous, man :(. I am sorry for your loss.

Seriously though, the reliability comparisons are about as pointless as saying the graphical capabilities of the Wii are far below that of the 360 and PS3. It's already a well established fact that steam rolls over any individual opinion, biased or not.

Heat kills both consoles. It was even responsible for the GPU failures on the early Wii models that ran in 24 on mode (in which the fan is off).

Both have the largest active cooling systems yet seen in a console.

When said active cooling system gets clogged up with debris or does not have enough fresh air to circulate, it overheats and increasing heat always leads to exponentially shorter lifespans for electronic components.

So lesson learned would be:
- back up any data you don't want to lose
- keep consoles well ventilated and clear of debris. if the fan sounds louder than normal, it's running too hot, likely clogged up.
