After recently beating inFAMOUS, I decided to make this topic so everyone involved can talk about great stories in video games.

Personally, I was rather impressed with the way the story unfolds in inFAMOUS, and I gaped at the ending. So awesome. I hope it sells enough to warrant a sequel. I especially loved the comic book art cutscenes.

*Spoiler* At one point, I expected Kessler to have some relation to Cole. I thought it would be his father. But when I found out it was actually HIM from the f*cking future, I was like DAMN, Cole is a f*cking beast!

What other games have amazing stories?

And before anyone can name them, yes, ICO and SotC have awesome stories. I can't wait for the Last Guardian.

Well, I would count Persona 4 as the best game story in recent years. Before that I really loved the story MGS3 and Psychonauts.

Final fantasy 6-10, all had good stories. I thought the first halo had a good story as well. My two favorite though have to be the god of war and metal gear solid series

The God of War series IMO has a great story.
Also the Metal Gear Series and Uncharted.

I forgot Mass effect, the first knights of the old republic, Vlakyira chronicles, and as a kid I loved the first zelda and mario stories.

Wow, I came in here planning on explaining how the story in InFamous is so great, but it looks like that's already covered in the OP.

Well, I love the background story in the Resistance franchise; it's really interesting, but the games don't include all of that info (I look around online when I'm bored).
I also like the concept of Assassin's Creed.

For me, a great story is something that has a ton of background info with all sorts of conspiracies and mysteries, etc. InFamous has lots of government stuff going on, AC is kind of like a doomsday thing, and Resistance... well, I want to know how the hell humanity survives the war!
