I just wanna say I think nintendo is why sony makes great games... :) Nintendo's minds come up with the ideas. And sony does it right. (at least since sony has been in the market)

It dropped by over 100k in north america and now is falling in japan! Nintendo, your time of dominance is coming to an end! The only reason it sold 100k less is that Nintendo shipped 100k less during that period, which was as everyone knows a week shorter than the Januar period. Every Wii that hit stores has sold out you moron. sigh, let me break it down for you. Febuary is only about 3 days shorter than January and even if it was the same length the wii would still have sold 100k less due to the fact it on averge sold LESS PER DAY! January sold - 485k Febuary sold - 335k January per day - 15,645 Febuary per day - 11,964 If Febuary was 31 days the wii would have sold 370,892 which is still 100k less than january. The 3 day difference would not have made an impact at all. This is all 3rd grade math. Except NPD doesn't work from the 1st of the month to the last day of the month. Instead, it may be from the 3rd to the 2nd of the next month, or any other odd combination. NPD does weeks, most months are four week months, NPD reports on 28 days of sales. Every third month or so, they do a 5 week reporting period, 35 days, to make up for the missing days. Jan was a 5week NPD month. Feb was a 4 week. Generally, you should expect lower sales across the board on 4week months. Look at 360, 293k in Jan, 228k in Feb. Wii and PS3 also dropped a lot. Not all the fluctuations are due to the extra week, for example PS3 fell much greater than 1 week of sales, while DS actually sold much more, because it was out of stock in Jan. Those were the two exceptions. Simply put, too get a weekly average, you must divide total sales by the # of weeks in the reporting period. There wasn't a big fall in 360 sales, it actually held steady on a weekly basis. Same for Wii. Too look at 360 sales, 293k in Jan versus 228k in Feb, you may go "wow big drop". But weekly sales was 293/5= 58.6k vs 228/4=57k in Feb, almost the same. However, of course PS3 took a big drop in weekly sales as well.
I was going based on per day, not total. EDIT: Oh and even if Febuary was the same length as January the wii's sales would still have dropped. Read between lines, I did. Take away how much per week the wii sold in january and it's rounded about 97k, subtract 97k from 485k and it's still more than febuary. It's sales dropped, deal!

Well, then you need to base all your calculations on this simple fact: January=35 days of sales. February=28 days of sales. And yeah, the Wii dropped some trivial amount in weekly sales, big deal. Look, I wish you were right, I dont like the Wii, but the fact is it's sales stayed almost the same, and it's still sold out. Oh and you're also wrong, wii sold 436k last month NOT 486k, which also throws your calculations off..

Ugh, I'm confused...what fanboy are you? You apparently hate Nintendo, the brains behind many of the best-selling games for many years, and also a great console maker... And you hate Sony too? Do you just hate everything? EDIT: And I'm not on a high horse...Nintendo really is a good game maker...and if you don't think so...ask millions upon millions of gamers who love at least a few of their games.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

I don't hate sony, I just think it's past systems were poorly made. They were still fun and I have owned every nintendo system ever made minus the GBColor, GBMicro and Wii..I grew up on nintendo, I just happen to hate the wii.

Alright then, so you don't like the Wii...and therefore you want Nintendo to burn to the ground...that's totally reasonable... I think by this time two years from now, there's going to be numerous must-have games, and your attitude will be quite different...but whatever, maybe not.

sorry about that, I was using this sites numbers for January and NPD for Febuary, I keep forgetting this sites is higher. It's still higher but not as bad, forget I said anything. I'll get used to the differences between this sites numbers and NPD's american number someday.

I have had issues with nintendo for about a year now. I wasn't too pleased with the GC but got it anyway because it had a wrestling game I wanted, so you never know I have changed my mind before. FYI, The wii does have games that look fun,I just hate the controller. 4 games I believe, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, Far Cry Vengeance, Call of Duty 3...the other one escapes me. But Call of Duty 3 looks better on 360 and got better reviews.

Far Cry Vengeance? Yeesh...wait for Metroid at least...
