Nintendo + Konami- Hybrid Heaven reboot.

something new. none of this zelda/mario capcom/konami version crap. Ive set my heart on a new platformer from nintendo, is it even possible or is Mario it for all eternity?

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

@Ken

Sakuraba Mario Bros.? O_o Link? I'm guessing it's from one of the Mario sports games soundtrack.

Nah, it was on this wonderful little album:

Youtube butchers the quality, but you can listen to it here.  I really wanted to hear more of Sakuraba's Kondo arrangements after this.

I see I have finally found an HH fan. It has been so long since I played it, but the graphics were great and the story was good. The gameplay could've been expanded upon, but it was good enough for me to beat the whole game. Gamespot rated it terribly, but I liked it.

I thought the game could've benefited from a bigger budget and a longer development cycle.  But the game design was superb.  I loved how you had to have the moves performed on you before you could learn them, leveling up certain body parts individually, and the battle system in general. Me and my friend used to get it on in the vs. mode too.  But my Johnny Slater was too powerful, so I always won!  I even remember how choppy it was in hi-res mode with the expansion pak!  I used to play it in letterbox hi-res to get a better framerate.

That game was epic!  I loved the music too, a shame Konami never relased an OST.

I totally agree with Hybrid Heaven. That game was great and no many people knew about. I regret selling my N64 and all its games.

OT: Nintendo/Intelligent Systems and Atlus(Quest developed) = Ogre Battle 64 sequel.

^^^I could just imagine the game being updated now, with the music being revamped and the gameplay faster overall. I remember (as a wrestling fan) waiting to find out which move they would do on me next, whether powerbomb or a Rock Bottom lol. I definitely remember the piledriver being there right?

^ Yeah, the piledriver was in there! I remember there being a few super rare wrestling moves that only a few hardcore monsters could perform, but I forget what they were exactly. I still have my copy of the game, I may put it in but I don't know where my N64 memory cards are... T_T

It isn't like Konami is doing anything right now anyways.........besides Castlevanias lol, which I also liked (unlike CV purists) on the N64.

in my opinion there are 3 that come to mind:

1. Bioware : Either a Zelda game about an older link thats more of an rpg, or maybe about another character in links world or soemthing, but more mature.

2. Suda 51 : He would make a crazy warioware thatss for sure.

3. Infinity Ward : Some kind of online paintball game with mario and friends, with cod 4 type of online xp and levelling.

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.
