Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Marvelous, crying over bad sales.

WoW....that made me wanna cry...especially when Wada said his line

Around the Network

they make the best games.... but it's their fault that they cry....

for god's sake, how the hell do they expect people to know that Little King's Story is great, do they expect them to all go online and read IGN review?

they need to promote a game if they feel it's good, sales don't came from no-where

also, if something is advertised and is good, the chances of failing are low

don't mind my username, that was more than 10 years ago, I'm a different person now, amazing how people change ^_^

Those arent all their games, are they? I am a bit confused over those statements.

Europe is a tough market, not because of its competitive, but by the totally opposite gaming tastes .And japan is sort of a mixed bag. While their games arent mainstream, they could do better elsewhere and hopefully wiil.
I hope LKS gets some more attention next month entering the NA market and Japan receives this game properly as well, and i believe they do have a good shot at it with some marketting effort.I however, always thought that European market is not friendly of these kind of games, no matter how good they are.Im sure another shooter, or even the Conduit, would perform way better there.

I think a lot of the problem now is the amount of games available for the Wii that's hurting the sales. The fact that a lot of Wii owner's also own a PS3 or a Xbox 360 and the global economy. How can people buy game's when they barely have enough to live off

I don't feel the least bit sad about this.

They're incompetent. They're bad at what they do. Their inability to adequately promote games is not just damaging them (boo hoo), it's also damaging talented developers who make great games that should be promoted and available to far more gamers than they are.

If Marvelous doesn't step up and get their act together then I hope the good developers like K2 and Image Epoch ditch them and jump over to a publisher that can actually do its job.

They weren't "bombs", per say (that title belongs to "Opoona" and "Kizuna" and "Jugement CastleVania", all of which did remarkably worse than Marvelous's title, but they certainly would have a hard time finding audiences on the Wii, simply because MH3 is not yet out.

But seriously, why bother giving this topic any attention? Go out there and convince your friends/family to purchase these games. Don't waste your time reading these depressing headlines. Do something productive!

I agree, it makes me sad too to see those great games bomb one by one. Although I'm confused by No More Heroes being up there. Wasn't there a party to celebrate its succes? Isn't there a sequel coming?

Better promotion should help though.

This is marvelous talking, which only published the game in Japan where it only sold 40k. It sold a lot more in the west where it was published by Ubisoft/Rising Star

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

They make incredibly niche games. Great games, but niche. What do they expect?

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

They need to realize that the success of a game (especially on the Wii) is directly linked to the the marketing campaign. Besides, most of their games, while great, are of niche appeal.
