Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Marvelous, crying over bad sales.

You can't just translate Sin City movie sales into video game popularity. I mean, people compare Okami to Zelda (yeah, maybe it's less similar), and look how well that game did on the PS2.

The game is just too extreme (B&W style, gore) for most people to consider buying. Its short length doesn't help much, either.

But the play mechanics in Zelda and Okami are different.  Having to paint, etc, in Okami makes the game too complex for most people.  Okami is probably the Drawn to Life of Zelda type games.

Poor guys fallen victim to the "huge userbase" myth. They should have released those on Live/PSN they would get lot more coverage in gaming media and userbase that actually reads those.

But it seems they already had enought:

I won't deny they may have generated more interest that way, but the games in question were sold as full-priced games. Aren't Live / PSN games usually $15 or so?

Either way I don't think there was an easy solution to sell these type of games, especially with how split the Japanese userbase is atm.

Well, if they don't promote them, no-one's gonna buy those games. There's an ocean of shovelware crap out there on store shelves, and the average joe can't tell the garbage from the gems, so it's no wonder games like those don't sell well.

lol at the idea that every new Wii owner buys Wii Fit. How do you come to that logic? Do you have proof of that? There's millions who don't own Wii Fit but own a Wii in Japan you know.

Wait until Christmas 2009. Wii Fit and Wii Resort sales will go through the roof.

If a game like the Crackdown is going to do 1.25 million on 360, then I know Madworld and No More Heroes could at the least do 750,000 to 1 million.

Xen, my points are:

1- Every week there is a thread saying the Wii doesn't have good games, all are childish, for the casuals, so on.

2- Every week there is a thread where all the Wii haters come and say the Wii doesn't sell good games, or the Wii doesn't sell mature games, or the Wii doesn't sell hardcores games, and they should all be released in the HD consoles that they would buy it.

MAKE UP YOUR F*CKING MIND!!!

I'm I the only one seeing contradictions here???? Every core-niche-awesome game sells bad on the Wii, and it would sell better on PS360 because they would love it and buy tons! Sou why doesn't that gamer base move to the Wii then??? Because, judging by the huge quantity of threads about games they would buy, I'm sure they wouldn't have to put the Wii on the closet!

That's the reason I have all consoles available: all of them have great exclusives that I don't want to miss.

Because if we moved to the Wii or most third party games moved to make the Wii their primary development console, then we would be missing out on hd level graphics.

But didn't you say that you would want these games? As is? So what's the problem for others like it? I don't see why would developers make Gears of War on the Wii because of ARF and Muramasa selling tons of copies... beacuase that would definitely happen if they were realeased to the userbase of the other platforms.

I would like games like Fragile and Muramasa because I do enjoy those types of niche games.  And they do seem to have good enough graphics.  (Besides, I don't mind to buy a Wii because Microsoft said it would be a good idea way back in 2006), however, I also think games like Madworld and No More Heroes would sell more on 360, for example, because I don't think those are niche games like Okami, Fragile, and Muramasa, and No More Heroes and Madworld are the types of games that appeal more to the 360's audience than they do the Wii's.

Really? Name one black & white 360 game.

Gears of War has a lot of black and white in it.  Also, 360 fans love any bloody action games and there is a lot of blood in Madworld.

Well I kept telling you drugs were bad for you but you refused to listen.  The result is you no longer see colours.
