Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Good racing wheel for 360.

i'm looking for a nice racing wheel for xbox 360 under 120$. right now only wheels for 360 i know are Logitech DriveFX and Wireless Steering Wheel from MS - which one is better and/or are there any other racing wheels for normal price(so no 300$ fanatecs or any other ridiculously expensive rigs:/) that will work with:

Grid,

PGR3/4,

Midnight Club LA,

Race Pro,

Test Drive Unlimited,

future racing games like Forza 3, Dirt 2, NFS Shift etc.

yeah after all i might pick MS wheel up.

Ive heard that the MS wheel sucks, not being a jerk, but that's what alot of my 360 racing buddies have said about it. Look for some online reviews maybe?

But...it actually seems the only real option for you :)

Also, that Logitech Drive FX is actually pretty good. You also get alot for your buck with it.

yeah but then again MS wheel have better reviews than DriveFX while some users praise MS Wheel and are saying that DriveFX is worse and some are saying that DriveFX is good and MS wheel is shit so it's kinda hard to chose especially that i can't even test any of them:/

The MS wheel is a good wheel for more arcade style racers.
It should do the job for people that are not "really" into the sim stuff.

Be sure to plug in the AC adapter in order to get the force feedback to work.

IMO the Driving Force GT is the best bang for the buck wheel.
Too bad it doesn't support the XBOX360 for whatever reason.

^Yeah certainly sounds like a tough choice. I haven't tried either of them but MS's wheel seems to be a bit better but your gonna have to shell out another $50 over the Logitech. I'd go with MS's wheel unless you're a tad tight on extra money.

well the price difference between both wheels in my country is less than 30$ so i want to pick the one more suited for racing sims - don't care bout the price of those wheels cause both are relatively cheap.

ok after lurking on Forza Motorsport i found thise thread

looks like i will be getting DriveFX.

I have both DriveFX and MS Wheel and they are both good, but MS wheel have a much better FFB strength. MS wheel also work great with arcade racer, I usually don't used wheel for arcade racer but for Midnight Club it work excellent.

MS Wheel also great with Race Pro (my favorite racing sim, it got some of the best physics, too bad the frame rate is poor and the game is a bit buggy) You have to used the wheel in 2nd port for the FFB to work properly on some of the wheels. I was hoping they would patch it but with Atari being publisher and SimBin a small dev. I doubt that will happen.

I would recommend MS wheel. The current model are better and not crappy like the early one. I don't know where you are, but I see MS wheel for around $80 at my local Wal-Mart.
