For those who own a xbox360, it's assumed that you don't need another HD gaming system.
If you only own a Wii and want to move up to a HD gaming system, is a $50 price break enough to get a PS3?
How about $100?
Or just buy a separate blu-ray disc player?
I think quite a few people would be annoyed by your statement that buying an HD console is "moving up".
And why specifically Wii owners? Nobody is allowed to own dual HD? If I got another 7th gen console, it wouldn't be the Wii...

I'm probabaly getting a PS3 next month. I'd get it a lot earlier if it was 300€ though. I don't have any plans and don't really want a xbox 360. Most, if not all games, I want are also available on PC.
Oh and, I already have a PSP.

since i'm no longer only wii owner i will tell this:
if i would still be wii only and would consider buying ps3 i would do it when i wouldn't have anything to play on wii or i would finish most of the games i wanted to play. then a 200$ ps3 for exclusive games and few multiplat titles would be nice.
if i would be only 360 owner i don't see the point in buying ps3 since 360 have similar library of games to ps3 and have wider selection of them.
as a wii, 360, psp and ps2 owner i don't see the point in buying ps3 since i have a problem in keeping up with rest of the consoles. though when ps3 will hit 100$ mark and ps4 will be released i might get it for cheap exclusive games.

I think it's because the CEO of SONY said Wii owners would eventually buy PS3s
I have no interest in a PS3. I might get a 360 in a few weeks though.

Well, i own Wii, GC, N64, PSX, SNES, NES and NDS. But, from this gen home consoles, Wii only.
I think a pricepoint of Sony paying me 50€ would be enough for me to get PS3 at the moment.
Edit: And as a side note, if you own a Wii, you don't need a HD gaming system. In that sense, the thinking in the OP was a little flawed.
