Yeah i guess so. The link to the guy who said that thing about that resolution, linked to some wallpapers and screenshots.

If you click on the link there, he's implying that by looking at the screenshot, he knows the native resolution, which imo is very weird.

Well if he knows the native res, he would know they were captured at 1600x900 and downscaled to 1280x720. So he's wrong about the native res of the screenies to. See Manipulation "Bullshots" thread for the native res on latest ME2 screenshots.

Look I don't claim to know how they do it, cuz it's got to do with pixel counting, then some maths....and normally I would disregard this till final game came out, but I've been following this forum, and have seem forum members work their magic and determine render rez from demos, and gameplay pictures even when upscaled.

There have been cases where developers have even confirmed this....Haze, halo 3, and Ghostbusters were three of these developers that have admitted to it but only try save face by pointing out what they could do better because of the lower rez, there has also been many many more games which they have determined the native rez, thus far they have not been wrong.

So given all of this, It's hard not to believe them, especially when they haven't been wrong thus far.

Aslo, there are some of them that work for Eurogamer, so take this as you will.

They have been wrong before. I understand exactly how they do it with the maths and pixels. But on this occasion with this game it has been downscaled not upscaled. Which means the maths would add up to 1600x900 not less than 720p as is being claimed. Downscaling actually improves the screenshot with less jaggies in many cases.

For instance Halo 3 photomode internally captures the image at 8064x4480 but downscales and outputs at 720p. Even though Halo 3 while playing is only ever 640p

I love Mass Effect! =)

how many new species are suppose to be on Mass Effect 2

Apparently Mass Effect 2 is still 720p on first glance. Take a look here:

Game is apparently V-Synced, no texture pop-ins, native 720p and 2xMSAA, with almost no framedrops except for some cinematics.. Pretty good.

Importing your Mass Effect Savegame
First, you do not need to have played Mass Effect to enjoy Mass Effect 2. The introduction is designed to introduce new players to the story and universe, and to recap the situation for previous players.

If you have completed Mass Effect and you still have your savegames, you can view each playthrough you’ve completed, and choose the one you want to continue from. The Mass Effect savegame doesn’t just contain a couple of your big choices. It contains countless decisions you’ve made, both large and small. These things could each potentially carry forward and affect your story in Mass Effect 2. This has never been done before on this scale, and it means you’re actually continuing your own story from exactly where you left off.

Some have asked “I built a level 60 character with lots of loot in Mass Effect – will it all carry over to Mass Effect 2?” We will definitely provide benefits for those who put time into developing their character in Mass Effect. But to support all the improvements made in combat and inventory, the skills and items are pretty much completely redone for Mass Effect 2. So if you import a character from Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2 will adapt the key assets of your character into starting benefits that work in the new system.

Guess i'm waiting for the PC version then. I hope they implement the same feature for that version.

@Quote Below: probably at 30fps though. ME1 looked amazing @ 60fps.

Demon's Souls Official Thread  | Currently playing: Left 4 Dead 2, LittleBigPlanet 2, Magicka

@Ameratsu: Yeah, V-Synced @ 30FPS. I prefer a stable game @30FPS than a 60FPS that's choppy as hell and dropping a lot.. I thought the first one was 30 FPS too on the X360 but I'm not sure..
