Forums - Sales Discussion - PS3 crawls above 100,000 WW. This is the end for Sony's PS3

A steady rate of 100,000 not good sales for a machine being sold as both a games machine and a BR player. Considering it is marketed in 2 markets (gaming & electronics) these sales are pretty abysmal and put a stamp on the theory BR and the PS3 are niche

"...the best way to prepare [to be a programmer] is to write programs, and to study great programs that other people have written. In my case, I went to the garbage cans at the Computer Science Center and fished out listings of their operating system." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

"Hey, Steve, just because you broke into Xerox's house before I did and took the TV doesn't mean I can't go in later and take the stereo." - Bill Gates (Microsoft Corporation)

Bill Gates had Mac prototypes to work from, and he was known to be obsessed with trying to make Windows as good as SAND (Steve's Amazing New Device), as a Microsoft exec named it. It was the Mac that Microsoft took for its blueprint on how to make a GUI.

Deja vu?

Former something....

Deja vu?

I wouldn't call it deja vu, because deja vu usually only repeats once.  I'm pretty sure I have seen this thread at least a hundred times.  This is deja vu on steroids, plus atomic powered molecular altering drugs.

Yes, the PS3 is DOOMED. Does that mean the the 360 is also, since it is only slightly above the PS3 and is cheaper?

For a $400 console it is selling ok considering we are in the middle of a massive recession.
If the sales stay the same after it goes to a lower price point then you may have a case.

So the 360 is also doomed as it is only selling 10k more despite being way cheaper.
Nintendomination confirmed

You don't really have a good point there...

I think 100k a week for a £299 product in a bad recession is 'decent.'
Since it's a Playstation it's poor, but Im sure there are better days ahead.

i dont know about being marketed in 2 area anymore....this was true some time ago...maybe when BD players were a bit more expensive.... but now BD players are as cheap as $140 some places...

Excellent sales for console who's closest competitor is closer in price to a PS2 then a PS3.
