Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Nintendo's customer service deserves heavy praise.

So yea.. about a week ago, my DS Lite went through a load of laundry.  Needless to say, it got wet.  I let it dry for a few days only for it to not turn back on.  So I called Nintendo's customer service.

I immediately routed to an English-speaking respresentative.  Paul, I believe that was his name, told me that I could send it for repair and was quite courtrous about it.  He told me that the repair could take anywhere from 11 to 16 business days.  I got an entirely new DS Lite in 8 days. I had to pay a huge chunk of money(cough$85cough) to get my DS Lite repaired but I couldn't be happier.

I've never felt this way about any other customer service line in my life.

Discuss I suppose.

ditto me, except mine was a DSi (;_;) and i didnt pay a cent, because my warranty was still in play. nintendo has always been good with this kind of thing.

I agree completely, nintendo have a fantastic customer support division. I work with video games and consoles and when dealing with returns or repairs i quite often have to deal with nintendo and every time they've been very helpful, sometimes overly so, and very fair about warranty issues and such like. I've never had a problem with sony cs either, they've always been on the ball but microsoft cs is an absolute joke, in fact i refuse to ring them now a days and i'll sort things out by email

nintendo and sega fan since i was old enough to hold a game controller.

note: my games collection on my profile is only 20ish% complete, i've got a boatload of 360,saturn and dreamcast games to add and a few ps3 games, thanks :)

Sounds pretty good... but my service with Sony was better. I was quickly put through and within 5-10 minutes they agreed to send a courier over within 2 days to exchange my PS3 for an equivalent refurbished console. But I assume it is easier in the UK

I've never had to use customer support because i've never had any troubles or acidents with my consoles or games. I wish Nintendo would make cellphones and PCs.

I Have an extreme tolerance to voice-work in video games. I didn't mind Vanille in FFXIII...

I hate to brag... but MS repaired fixed my console for free. Granted I didn't break it... but free is free.

In this case yes, because the refurbished console broke a week later, so I got a new one, which has lasted 1 1/2 years, but I had the launch PS3, so if they had given me a brand new PS3, I wouldn't have any backwards compatibility. Did I mention mine was completely free?

My DS wasn't under warranty.. I'm sure I would have had similar results if it were.
