Ladies and Gentleman of Vgchartz.

The Forza 3 vs. Gran Turismo 5 topic has created war and divided the community I am here to set the record straight and unite the community once more. I am a Xbox 360, Ps3 and Wii owner im as neutral as they come. In this thread I will be as honest as possible. Too many racing threads and screenshots have been posted so let me settle this once and for all. 

Forza 3 is set to upgrade to the next lever in terms of graphics and gameplay compared to its predecessor Forza 2. Unfortunately even that leap forward technically will not be enough to dethrone Gran Turismo 5, GT5 is shaping up to be the greatest racer of all time. Turn 10’s has only proved my theory, which is if no one competes with Forza 3 than there is no need to constantly criticize Gran Turismo that in itself shows that Forza 3 may struggle to live up to expectations.

In terms of sales it would be like comparing Halo 3 to Killzone 2, no disrespect to Kilzone 2. But Gran Turismo in terms of Brand image is known very well in all three territories, upon release it will do extremely well it has that reputation similar to Halo 3. Forza 3 however will do very well indeed, it will pass the sales records set by Forza 2 but won’t reach the sales level of Gran Turismo 5, it simply has not attained that reputation. 

I felt when discussing such a delicate matter. I had to consult with my Friend at Game to get his verdict on it, my friend at Game knows everything there is to know about gaming.

Megaman2 has asked me to give my opinion on the Forza 3 vs Gran Turismo 5 debate, being a Game employee with vast experience in both retail and gaming he made the right decision coming to me for advice. I’ve been a Game employee for more than 10 years now, so I know a thing or two about gaming and the needs of gamers/consumers. The Gran Turismo series is considered a pinnacle in racing games, understandably so it boasts the best graphics and has single handedly saved the racing market, when it made it's debut on the Playstation 1 both gamers and critics were left speechless, Polyphony digital managed to create a masterpiece of epic proportions. However Forza made it’s debut on the Xbox and eye brows were raised, Forza on the Xbox was a beauty of a game. However those eye brows were quickly dismissed when Gran turismo 4 released and it still considered by many to be one of greatest racing games of all time. However this generation the battle between Forza and Gran Turismo has been close but no cigar, many of our consumers/gamers still believe that when Gran Turismo 5 releases that it will mop the floor with the competition, Turn 10’s insults have not gone down well with our customers. At the end of the day Vgchartz I’m a gamer myself, but no racing game can compete with the definitive racer that is Gran Turismo 5 it’s a simple fact.

I just want to leave you with a closing comment not only is Gran Turismo 5 the definitive racer. It also the definitive racing package and it will be inserted in the definitive console the Ps3

I agree whole heartedly with this thread.

GT5 really will be the definitive racer, and GT is the definitive racing IP.
