Forums - Gaming Discussion - Clive Barker's Jericho - My Impressions

I thought I'd take a little time during my lunch hour at work to tell everyone my impressions of the Clive Barker's Jericho demo released yesterday for the XBox 360 and the PS3.  Having both systems I was able to test out both versions of the demo.

Gameplay (Both systems)

I thought the controls for this game were pretty tight, but (and I know this is a "squad" based shooter) I didn't really like having to shift members for certain abilities.  I usually like to play as one character (like Samus :) ).  Again there is another "button pressing test - press X, now press A, now press Y, OMG YOU DIDN'T HIT Y YUO ARE DEADXORS" aspect in one part of the demo, and I hate to say it but I kind of feel those should be more forgiving.  Also I think that that kind of game play is getting a little stale.  The guns are cool and the powers are a neat aspect.

Graphics (360)

The 360 is the first version I played because the DL was MUCH faster on Live than it was on PSN.  The graphics on this version were good but it was almost too dark to see unless the gamma is turned all the way up.  Also the textures look a little bit grainy.  All in all I thought "this is amazing" when I first saw it.

Graphics (PS3)

Believe it or not but the graphics IMHO are substantially better on the PS3 version of the demo.  I played the 360 version first and this version was alot brighter and more detailed.

Well, I am not a good writer when I'm trying to eat a burrito from Chipotle, so there you go :)

The game was also very dark in the PC demo when I was half way in the demo I looked after the gamma settings made the game much easier I thought that the game was supposed to be very dark because it is horror game. But I understood something was wrong with the gamma when I climb up in the tunnel could not see a shit. I give the demo 7/10 not really my kind of game, but I liked the well thing almost like GoW good cinematic. I might give the game another chance later there were some things I did not try.

I played the PS3 version and found it very dark and I would get lost for a second occasionally.
I had much more fun with the Stuntman: Ignition demo. It kind of took me by surprise of how fun it is. It's f'n hard, but there is a certain satisfaction watching a successful stunt when its done.

So what do you win if your prefered console sells more than another?

I just played the PS3 demo of Jericho... I actually wanted it for the PC until I saw a review on the PC demo that says they included key press sequences in the PC version just as they are in the console edition. I don't like them in Heavenly, and I don't like them here. What's the point of these???

It seems the mods need help with this forum.  I have zero tolerance for trolling, platform criticism (Rule 4), and poster bad-mouthing (Rule 3.4) and you will be reported.

I played the PS3 demo and i had fun with it, i'm not going to buy it but it was fun. The graphics were ok, i never felt the game was too dark, i just played with the flashlight on, i do the same thing in all games. Even with halo and most people think that game is very bright. I never even knew you could change players until i died and they made me switch.

@Zero Hero, you must be pretty good at the stuntman game, i beat the one part, the lava one.  I tried the other ones and they were 10x harder so i just gave up.  I also tried the sixaxis driving, and it was insane, i could not even make it 100 feet without crashing :(
