Forums - Gaming Discussion - Halo 3 Possibly in September, massive year for Xbox 360

that would be sweet, don't forget that guitar hero 2 comes out next month... so basically every month there is a huge game. This could sell many xbox 360s consistently throughout the year... oooorr.. turn the 360 into a hardcore console where only those that own the system buy games for it... but i think the former is more accurate. now, if they do a price drop when forza comes out (or at least a pack in with the steering wheel, i've got my fingers crossed) that could boost a lot of sales. I know a number of people who want the 360 but feel like its getting late enough in its lifespan to see a price drop and are holding out.

September-November could see a big bump in hardware sales, but the other games on there I think are needed just to satisfy the existing audience.

Yeah or they're waiting for the "black" 360 (120 gig HD, HDMI)

August also has Bioshock, and although the game will likely sell poorly it's almost certain that it will be a top tier title. Either way this looks to be an amazing year for the 360 that blows the PS3 and Wii's lineups out of the water.

But Halo 3 doesnt look too good does it ?I mean ....Unreal 3 seems a lot more spectacular .From the footage seen Halo 3 seem Halo 2 in high resolution ...

true, but I still think that the "black" 360 is nothing but rumors because of all those debug kits out there that are black. There is also no reason to have hdmi built in, especially when they can sell a proprietary plug that they can charge more for. as for the harddrive, that would be nice, but I haven't felt like my space is that limited yet... although if there is an easy way to transfer my stuff then I'll totally get it.

It seems as though we may see the mega hit in September as opposed to the assumed November release. When asked about possibly shipping Halo 3 out of the November time frame that worked so well for Halo 2: We don’t tell Bungie when they have to ship Halo 3. If they can get out before GTA4, they probably feel like that’s better, sort of like Xbox 360 coming out before PlayStation 3. If you pair this quote with the quotes that Kim delivered about Mass Effect saying he “would not be afraid to [launch in the summer]” and “it makes no sense for first party titles to compete with other first party titles” this could lead to eight great Xbox 360 titles, seven of which are first party titles, in eight consecutive months on the Xbox 360. The monthly big releases from Microsoft could break down as follows: May - Forza 2 June - Shadowrun July - Mass Effect August - Blue Dragon September - Halo 3 October - Grand Theft Auto 4 November - Project Gotham Racing 4 December - Lost Odyssey
lol after playing CRYSIS do you think anyone would actually buy this game???? photorealism vs cartoon film??? there is no black x360..........it was just a rumour............and anyway without a NEXT-GEN drive it is basically the same as the 20gig version. No one is waiting for HALO 3..........this is new gen. where photorealism of LAIR, CRYSIS gets all the attention

all footage has been in pre-alpha... however, if you watch the vidoc it shows some direct comparisons and there is definitely a difference. The cool part is that they are keeping the art style so similiar so that you really don't see a huge difference in character or level design and so you will feel like you are playing in the same universe only higher res with more detail. in one of their weekly updates they said that they could have made it super realistic but it would have taken away part of the art style.
