Madden, Tiger and soccer games have generally been better on Wii for a couple years now. Wii also has a bunch of mini-game sports games which are somewhat fun and the official Wii series games. Most people have known that Wii is the best system for sports games for years.

Actually, FIFA 09 is 7 points worse on Wii, and Madden is 2 points worse, and those are the 2 largest sports franchises

That's probably largely due to the not so great controls. Worse graphics just makes it worse.

But now with WM+ out, that should change.

Do those games use motion control? I was under the impression that they relied on IR pointing.

The case could of course be made that Wii Sport is the largest sport franchise, Wii Play 2nd and Wii Fit 3rd which would definately give the Wii the advntage ... some people might not follow this particular reasoning.

I would argue with that, but those are the sports which are most important for the majority of people in the world.... well football is the most important sport in the world, that's why about 4m football games were sold on the PS3 alone last season

Those are some surprising findings, especially on the multiplat front.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

good to finally see either less shovelware, or reviewers taking wii games more seriously.

^Actually more scores shouldn't lower the reviews because they should fall within your normal range for a game anyway.

more scores would lower the score because the first reviewers are generally favorable ones that get sneek peeks due to closeness of ties with the parent console. THe later ones are generally ones that are closer to the average score. In any given sample range, 10 samples is a necessary minimum, to offset for such effects as ordering that we see here.

In most cases the first will be higher than the average, but sometimes it is lower.

Anyways, this is good news for wii. Hopefully game devs will keep this up.

Is this due to those sports games coming out? This looks like one area in which motion controls would indeed help the ps360.

As for it being the console for sports, it lacks Madden and FIFA from that list... and the PS360 versions of PES 2009 were pretty rubbish anyway, but it does seem there are less lazy ports in general

The crack about the Wii being the jock's console was somewhat tongue in cheek, however I think some reviewers' gratuitous  comments about the lack of good sport games on the Wii are getting dated and misleading. No doubt M+ will make this even more true.

I dont know if its the lack of sports games, but all the people I know that are hardcore PES fans including me prefer the traditional controls in the dualshock, its not innovative but thats the way people like it. I dont know about other games since I dont like american football or golf, but tennis games I think wii has a very good chance of getting the best game as long as the presentation in them doesnt suck and the controls are well done.

In fifa its not just the controls, I think fifa 08 is the one I played for the wii at my friends house and the game just sucks, controls are average, but the game tecknically sucks, sometimes it gets slower and the it kinda fastfords while your playing, the game turns faster suddenly, and not in a good way. It also lacks features and makes the game look dumbed down even from the old generation version.
