Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why did they start development on the 360 for Assasins creed and more?

Previously exclusive, Assasins creed, and GTA 4 on the ps3 were started on the xbox 360 instead as the lead platform. And the games are being ported from xbox 360 to ps3. Why is it that way? The game used to be on ps3 only and now we get a glitchy ported game and the xbox gets the real version. They only show gameplay on the xbox 360, with no ps3 in sight.

I don't know...Maybe it's becuase the PS3 has less than half the install base as the 360?  I don't know, that's just a guess though....

Here's a video from my band's last show Check out more (bigger) videos here http://www.youtube.com/user/icemanout

Just a quick history lesson Mr leo-j, Assassins Creed FIRST started as a 360 game and was shown at X05. It was later announced as only being on Ps3. Do some research on this and you'll find it.

You are correct on GTA 4. And the answer is clear: multiplat 360 games sell a lot more and they want to make sure it has the top quality of all. Just like when EA made sure all their sports game ran top quality on 360, it ended up crushing the ps3 in sales. Companies just want to make some money, don't be mad at them.

I just find it stupid, that the game was exclusive on the system then its going on another system starting development on that system then ported as a weaker version/

-edit-

Don't take this seriously, it is in fact a joke.

Sales leo-j duh?

It doesn't take a rocket science to figure that out. When a developer feels they are not making profit. They get out quickly from that system. Unlike Microsoft who more than likely pays for development. I like Microsoft for what they are doing. They are buying development. Go Microsoft!

Weaker system? Judging from the games I'd say the ps3 and 360 are pretty comparable.

If you feel that way, why not just trade in your PS3 and switch to the 360? What is this thing about sticking to the PS3 if you feel its games are inferior to the 360 version?

Hrrmmmmm....I didn't watch the trailer because this computer has very low resolution and slow connection, but where did it say GTA4 for the PS3 was a port?

Assasins Creed was never exclusive to the PS3.

Ubisoft just announced the PS3 version and was payed by Sony to keep quite about the 360 version. At no time did they say it was exclusive, thats something people came up with themselves.
