I love how Sony and MS talk so much trash about Nintendo and then constantly fail to deliver

Yeah concidering that nintendo didn't fail with the original wii mote forcing them to bring in motion plus

OH SNAP !

Not only that but sonys wand is more precise, the camera adds voice recognition and facial recognition and it can do headtracking without infrareds.

And the complete wand set will likely have 2 analogues.

You were saying ?

ROFl, actually Wii didn't fail with the original Wiimote *looks at 50 million sales*  The Wii motion plus was an update to counter anything that Sony and MS would bring out.  On Sony, if you really think that Sony's remote will actually deliver what's being promised, then I have a bridge to sell you, Sony has a history of over promising and under delivering, Oh Yeah!

Yea unlike nintendo who promised true motion tracking with the original wii mote only to gimp it so they could charge you for it later.

Not only will sony deliver what they promised. But they showed tech demos on stage so we know exacly what it can do.

I don't see how they couldn't deliver. It was a live tech demo. Didn't you watch the show ?

Yeah I watched, and even on the tech demo it looked glitchy, a lot of the things they were doing didn't work properly, and a tech demo is downscaled a lot, if they can't even get it to work well there its not going to work that well in actual games.  The purple wand is going to be a massive fail for Sony.

You're joking right ? he wrote his name in the air. Perfectly.

You require this:

I have to say that is more impressive the second time around....also, it is two controllers. thank you for that video.

Np.

@simulacrum.

Well if they put a analogue on each wand and require you to use two. It'd work perfectly for genres like fps and stuff.

Also they should use the wand as a curser in rts games and not to "draw circles" .. :p the other way functions better.. where you just drag a big square.

Well that video only shows that it can do what the wiimote can do. everything to the last showcase. Even the walking around the room and aiming from different angles is possible on the Wii and that has been shown already on the net. Writing your name is just as easy, it comes down to just how good you are at controlling the wiimote.

seriously, this new ps3 controller doesn't show anything new. What's more it looks like it needs to be worked on as there still looks to be a few problems with accuracy (the part where he's trying to hit the ball).

If i lose access to this profile as well....I'm done with this site.....You've been warned!!.....whoever you are...

Happy Wii60 user. Me and my family are a perfect example of where hardcore meets casual and together mutate into something awesome.

i don't know, to me it looked like even if he was nervous, he still was hitting it well enough to get the ball with the racket trim but he didn't. it looked like you either hit it good or not at all. so i'll stick with my concept of lackin accuracy as of now. Of course they should have this fixed in no time if they know what they're doing.

To me it just seems like he sucks really badly at hitting the ball...partially because he seems nervous as hell.

I never thought the issue was the tech with the ball timing - definately looks like the guy simply was on stage, nervous and not hitting the mark well.  The swing seemed aligned to his movements, but his timing didn't seem to fit the ball.

Either way looking at the tech it'd be surprising if Sony didn't get it working - the core principles seem sound in terms of how the controlers work with the camera.

I'm more concerned Sony produce great games to go with the tech.  Historically they seem to 'throw out' stuff like EyeToy, etc. but then assume developers, etc. will deliver the goods because they're excited by it, and this rarely follows through.

Sony themselves need to make sure they deliver compelling titles (which could be faimly fun, hardcore gaming or a mix) to support the tech launch, otherwise it's just another accessory that may/may not get decent support.

Looking at MS Natal project I think they've learnt this looking at Nintendo, and are working to deliver titles and guidance to make sure the device at least has a chance of taking off.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Yeah, I suspect he just means that the games will work with the controller (meaning the buttons on it)... not that all of those games will retroactively use motion control.

This.

How the hell did some people read it as promising motion control patches for ps3 games is beyond my understanding.

They will probably somehow map motion moves to analogs.

I have no idea how this is going to be usefull and comfortable but who cares. It's not like we suddenly are going to sell our DS3.

I dont want to call this spinning.... because it isnt... its actually a lie. It cant be anything else.

Love to see how that wand(s) would work with wipeout HD or Singstar !? for instance. Hey... he did say EVERY game.

I will give the benefit of the doubt and say there was a misunderstanding between question and answer.....

If the 2 wands combined has the same buttons... why wouldn't you ?

He can also just mean in theory. If they update each game.

Well i don't see whats the problem?  Willmote M+ with HD Graphics and a better library of older PS3 games (MGS4, RE5, Uncharted, Killzone, etc.).  Thats what i've been waiting for but i guess motion controls are not for everyone.
