Forums - Gaming Discussion - What is the deal with Burnout Paradise and DLC?

How much will you pay for 15 new events in Burnout Paradise? Criterion is hoping the answer is $12.99 (£9.99), because that's what it's charging for the upcoming Big Surf Island DLC pack, available this Thursday. Interestingly, those who use Microsoft Magic Money™ get a slightly cheaper option at 1000.

This is the next in line of a very long list of DLC from Criterion. What the hell? Are they trying to milk the DLC cow with this game? The first few are reasonable, I even understood the Legendary Cars DLC (Back to the Future Car....awesome)...but it's getting ridiculous now. Why do you think they keep releasing this stuff? Are they even working on a new Burnout, or are they just pushing out DLC because it's much more profitable?

I wish they would do DLC for Revenge!

Burnout Revenge was awesome...Aftertouch was the shit

Actually this DLC isn't a bad purchase. You essentially get a new downtown area for $12. I probably won't be buying it though as I haven't completed the game so a few extra challenges aren't really worth it.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

Well they did give away a year of free DLC... but my copy is from Asia, so I can't buy this DLC, but that has saved me loads of money this year, but all DLC is overpriced

I don't know what's the buzz around this game.
I played it for an hour and never put it in my system again.

And WTF no 2P offline head to head?

I think it looks like a decent level of DLC for the price. A whole lot of DLC was delivered free as well. Of course, it may be a cunning plan to built well above average levels of goodwill with free DLC then score big time with a big string of paid for DLC.

But I'll be generous and assume that's not the case.

The car's did feel overpriced, though.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

Awww man. Big Surf Island was originally supposed to be the third free DLC pack. Well whatever. I love the game and Criterion has supported it well. I've been waiting for this for a while and $12 isn't the end of the world. I'll bite.

Yeah, its probably a little more than it should be, it should be around $10 if anything. But $13 isnt te end of the world, and its a fun game so I'll probably get it.

I'm getting it, and not for the challenges. Just driving around Paradise City is awesome fun, and for this much content, I'll gladly fork over the money.
