Has this guy played actual tennis before?

I thought that too... I was like -  wait... in sports when you make a mistake, the other team usually wins. Maybe the guy just sucked at real tennis too

Silly rabbit.... everyone knows if you make a mistake you should be rewarded.

Maybe Nintendo's new patent where the game plays for you would be good for this guy.

Basically the summary from reading it

"Because I'm not a capable enough gamer to play this game it is obviously bad controls and not me."

Sounds pretty vein. I'll wait for more reviews but from all the others the controls seem to work fine with a learning curve. Apparently the reviewer's learning curve is much higher. Shouldn't gamers be reviewing these haha.

Why should seemingly accessible games on arguably the most accessible system on the market need to be reviewed by skilled gamers?

Obviously this reviewer had problems with the shot recognition and game difficulty.  Are we to believe that no other reviewers might have had difficulty problems as well... or is it more likely that they might have glossed over it in lieu of mentioning a learning curve to avoid losing their "cred" as professional gamer reviewers?

I don't know about the rest of you but I admire a reviewer with the guts and honesty to stand up and say "this game is freaking hard."

Nooo! Not hippie logic! Noooooooooooooo! I believe for every mistake made, a person should be punched in the face. Quick learners guaranteed!

LOL so you mean like in the football games where you can set the entire season to be CPU vs CPU and just get the results?

What I got from the review was "the controls don't work," not "the game is freaking hard."  Since every other review has not had a problem with the controls, I don't think it is the game.

"Things aren't all rosy though, as some extended time on court reveals a few unfortunate flaws that will start to niggle and grate the more you play. Chief among these are a few control issues, but a fairly rudimentary career mode doesn't help either."

It seems reviewers can't agree on anything with this game.  In addition to praising the controls, IGN praised the career mode and called it "full".  They also gave the game an editors' choice award.
