Maybe people are not ready for the next gen plain and simple and dont want to give up their ps2's . Im seriously reconsidering my ps3 preorder now i might wait and see i think sony may have to bring in a price cut now .

I'm used to that by now, although 295k for Feb is definitely much higher than I would expect now that the PS3 is out.

God of War 2 is likely going to boost Playstation 2 a bit. Wii has nothing for until Super Paper Mario, and still struggling to get units out. A fall from this month is not hard to believe. The fact is Sony still controls the majority of the home console market, no way to spin this. The real question is when will those who are buying PS2 now upgrade to Ps3, and the same question can be asked for those who bought the PS2 just 2-3 years ago.

Don't worry about PS2 beating next gen systems. SNES beat N64, Saturn and PS1 in 1995- most of 1997 in North America. NES beat out the Genesis through 1991. I believe PS1 outsold PS2 in the first year as well (Oct-Oct) It takes 18 months to two years post all next-gen systems launching for the old systems to be completely dead...which is why in Japan for instance SNES had games in the top 10 software until December 1997, much as PS2 will likely have software in the top 10 in Japan until December 2007.. The industry has patterns

Yeah that is a good question, when will people buy a PS3??? Because if these numbers are real they certainly aren't buying them right now.
