Forums - Gaming Discussion - Media and Press who won E3

Sony destoryed e3 without a doubt. Everything ms and nintendo presented Sony smashed and topped it, the general media have been on ms nuts since the ps3 launched and as a fact the general media can be bought and influenced. Natal is not innovation, conviction is a hitman clone, kojima won't be working on the Rizen, and now the media put ms ahead of Sony, and all the major sites agree all at the same time. I watched e3 live and some of these sites said otherwise a day after e3 now they changed their minds, somethings fishy...

People still rely on the media? After all of these sites have proven to be be run by fanboys varying of all types? Seriously? People are pretty gullible.

Yeah, it seems the "hardcore" media has accepted Natal.

Which is really funny, this might be the proof people need that video game journalism is "biased".

Game wise I am looking forward to sony and nintendo more than microsoft. So I don't seem to share the same views as these sites. Honestly sony did the most for me this year, which is kinda funny because I was starting to hate sony.

That's just personal preference right? Not because 360 suks and has nothing to offer??

Although if you like ps3's library and the wii's library, that's a pretty broad taste in games, weird how the 360 just doesn't cut it?

ive said it once and i will say it again

"this is just sad, sad for gaming and very sad for the industry

nin comes in with a ton of core games and a small smattering of casual and they get a fucking c+

this rag is a joke and any one following it should be ashamed of themselves and should get the hell out of my hobby b/c your killing the industry with your testosterone fueled boob quest...if you want porn in games get on the net, in you can only give a good review scores if the game has guns and tits leave now and take your 12 year old trash with you

you have 2 shows scoring higher then nin and both of them showed multiplatform games for almost or over half of there show, the rest is made up a few a new exclusives and games we have known about for more then a year in most cases

and they get bs and as......a craptastic joke....

then you have nin giving out tons of core games with most of them new announcements and a piece of hardware that lets games adapt

i know its hard to imagine something with out boobs and blood adding to a game, but picture a survival horror that is reading your heart rate and adjusting accordingly by either adding to our taking away from the moment.....but no that's to hard right that would require you to be impressed

this is a truly sad day for this industry......just when the would is starting to look at us gamers as a serious thing we go and show how much like little children we can be"

BOOOO.....Epic Fail dude.

Explain to me how the wii announced a ton of core games and the HD consoles just a few core exclusives? A few? Your perception is skewed because your kiddie box has been so starved of hardcore games that finally a few get announced (kudos 4 nintendo) and suddenly nintendo's hardcore exclusive library is stronger than the HD consoles?

Mind you, those multiplatform games (there was an exclusive 4 every 1 multiplat) although baring no impact on the ps3 or 360, does bare an impact on the wii since most are 'exclusive' to the HD consoles.

You get impressed with a vitality sensor yet ps3's motion control and Natal aren't even worth a mention???? Probably convinient amnesia. Get out of here with your extremely bias assessment of E3.

^^^ lol kiddie box, is that 360 Jr? Seems that's how MS is trying to pitch Natal. They pretty much ignored the core market for Natal and made a point to address the casual market. Maybe they'll make a Natal bundle and name it the KBox360

The disrespect for Nintendo is strong.

Nintendo shows off Wii Remote - C
Nintendo shows off Wii Balance Board - C
Nintendo shows off WM+ with possibly best games announcement in a long time - C

Microsoft shows their motion control Natal - A+++++++++++
Sony shows off their motion control with wand thingy - A+++++++++++

That is just crap and their scores are crap. At least try to be fair. Nintendo shows motion controls and everyone laughs and says it is stupid, but then turn around and praise the ground the competitors walk on even though they are late to the game. Even if you want to argue that there aren't many games for the balance board, we have the same exact argument for Microsoft and Sony.

In my mind E3 went like this MS=Nintendo>Sony. Mostly for the following reasons. You can take your pick on who "won" but Ninty and MS both offered a lot of new stuff for gamers. Personally I choose Ninty since I own the console

Microsoft shows off some stuff we didn't know about + new hardware that has lots of vision even if I thought it was too early to show off (lack of gamers games to show the public).

Nintendo demoed their WM+ which is coming out now, plus they announced 2 Wii Marios at the same time. People have been asking for a 2D console mario since Mario 64 came out and they finally delivered. Very solid showing overall with new software. The vitality sensor was weird, but in no way destroys the show.

Sony had only FFIV to announce and that is an MMO which generally is not liked by the FF crowd. Their motion control is also in a hugely primitive state and also has no gamers games to show off to the public. So much stuff was leaked that most of their show was a repeat of things we had already heard. Had they not leaked everything I would probably rank them a lot higher.

You can't keep counting nintendo's previous announcements for this years E3. First of using your argument agains sony about leaking info. Who didn't know about wii motion plus? balance board? wii remote? Nintendo should've written up a program card listing all the announcements. All the hardware stuff from nintendo were just upgrades, not even astonishing upgrades just....an upgrade.

The HD consoles announcing motion controls is very big because it evens the playing field, wii is no longer so unique. You can even argue it dislevels the playing field even further. Just as important is the fact that the HD motion technologies are better. Don't use the games argument. Clearly the HD's are serious about this. 1000's of developers have the dev kits and MS especially is pulling all the stops, employing all the doctors and enginners and buying all competing companies and unifying them for this technology. Do you really think this new technology isn't going to be supported?

When a company has time to put in a vitality sensor announcement and talk sales and company philosophy, basically pitching itself........you can be confindent nothing out of this world is gonna be announced.

To say that all ps3 had was FF14 is absurd. I know you used your leaked info to justify only mentioning this one game, but there were other games that weren't leaked. Last Guardian and Agent. Whatever the case, it doesn't matter that info was leaked. Alot of times these are just rumors, and when they aren't rumors, finally seeing playable demos that are as good or better than all the cgi trailers we were fed is very exciting.

I won't even go into 360. MS literally covered all areas. As it stands, the 360 and ps3 each have more exclusive core titles coming than the wii. In addition, they have more core titles period as all those multiplats although not exclusive among the hd consoles; they are exclusive TO the hd consoles.

See, the problem is, it doesn't even the playing field - neither system has a device on the market. What we saw are crude prototypes.

Natal will be scaled down in the end, as it was incapable of presenting the full range of what it said it can do. With Nintendo already on the market with WM+, and Sony with a said device next year, MS is going to rush to get the system out and scale it back to make it afordable. Expect feature ganking for Natal.

As fo Sony's motion sensor, so much work has to be done to the way the system looks yet, Spring 2010 is unlikely. Right now, the product violates Nintendo's patent. The casing, the way its held, data relays, all have to be reworked from the ground up. What Sony has right now is a Wiimote without a nunchuck.

In truth, you might just see these technologies revisited and re-demonstrated at E3 2010, much like WM+ was from 08 to 09.

At the end of the day, for as much hype as gaming sites offer Natal and Sony Motion, it falls on deaf ears. The market that they are aiming for doesn't visit tech sites or gaming sites, they get cooking tips and ways to improve their gardens. Ultimately, both systems need a lot of work and will need to spend millions just to get the word out to the right channels. In the meantime, Nintendo will have a solid year to get WM+ to every current Wii owner and attract new fans. The issue here is, casuals are quick to pick up on scams, and if they hear about MS or Sony's motion systems, they'll chalk it up to a Wii knock-off, and shrug their shoulders at it. Casuals are NOT tech nerds and they are not gamer enthusiasts, they don't receive announcements such as Natal the same way gamers and tecchies do.

So true. The casual Wii owners are already getting everything they want (except for Buzz/Scene it and Singstar/Lips). Many of those gamers are also very much into Nintendo franchises like Mario and Zelda and have almost no knowledge of other franchises, so they go with Nintendo for both "hardcore" gaming and "casual" gaming. So whatever MS and Sony decide to do, they will have a hard time getting those costumers.
