Forums - Microsoft Discussion - 360 maxed out, PlayStation3 isn't.

To the exclusives, ps3 wins out here but not by much.

Splinter cell conviction is a gorgeous game comparable to every exclusive the ps3 has except for killzone 2 and uncharted 2. These to very slightly win out.

Alan wake, people were a bit disapointed at the graphics because the in game engine cut scenes weren't overly impressive but gameplay graphics are quite astonishing. Especially the color pallete used and the lighting effects quite possibly the best this gen, top 3 for sure.

ps. don't mention GT5. We need gameplay to claim anything about this game.

Not Again , Why, Wwhyyyy!!! ahhhhhhhhh! We should not allow threads like this anymore..

on topic:

Games like Alan Wake, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Forza 3, Mass Effect 2, Lost Planet 2, Bioshock 2, Gears 2, RE5 won't and don't make a dent in performance..

Oh Crackdown 2 is looking good too.

But noooo, The Xbox has been MAX out since Gears of war 1..

If Forza 3 is looking better than GT5 so far at the moment it says a lot about the system.

I'm one of those people who expect exclusives to look better than multiplatforms because of the obvious technical limitations the developers face when doing either , you of all people should know that , it counts for both consoles.

We can argue endlessly on particular games but if we look at the bigger picture , the PS3 wins cummilativley , always setting the new standard. You obviously don't realise this because of your blind dedication to the 360.

Despite my strong affiliation with the playstation brand , I still know what's what.

...Says the guy with the Sony Defense Force signature.

You know, you'd hope that a much more expensive system would have a slight edge on graphical capabilities.

So Killzone is only slightly superior to everything on the 360 , I think not ?

The increased cost offers alot of benefits for free you'd have to pay for on the 360.

I need Wi-FI , got that for free .

I prefer to play my games online ,got that for free.

I prefer to watch BR movies , built in.

Prefer Larger HD size , very cheap.

Prefer superior technology , well worth the price.

another post made by SDF believer wow.

i prefer games i can actually get - i won't have that on ps3,

i prefer beter online - you won't have that on ps3,

i prefer cheaper versions of the same multiplatform games - i won't have that on ps3,

i prefer racing sims - i won't have that on ps3,

i prefer free chat not only in games - i won't have that on ps3,

i prefer backwards compatibility - i won't have that on ps3,

see i can do this too. so suck it up and admit that there are better looking games than every ps3 exclusive title both exclusive on other consoles and multiplatform.

Has anyone got actual in game screenshots/gameplay footage of the XBOX 360 version of alan wake , does anyone even know what alan wake is about ? . It's a sad state of affairs when fanboys try to tout games that they have no clue about as graphical powerhouses.

Sony has proven consistently that the PS3 is a graphical powerhouse , it's no suprise to me that the industr is begining to confirm this , it has however been known for a long time that the PS3 graphicaly suprases it's rival . Uncharted , GT5:P , Ratchet and Clank etc ( I could go on) have consistently proven the PS3's graphical superiority.

Considering that the PS3 is already prooven to be ahead of the 360 ( Killzone 2) it'll be interesting to see the results of it pulling further ahead ( Heavy Rain , Uncharted 2 ?)

Are you insane??? Alan Wake had a playable demo and extensive gameplay footage to show off it's graphics. Unlike GT5 that everyone is clamoring for, which had a fucking cgi video.

Heavy Rain is a freaking interactive movie, it's the most linear game this gen and therefore has a very small scale in which to concentrate all the graphics. Alan Wake is a freaking sandbox game light. It's scope is very wide. There's alot going on in the game at any one time. Would you compare GTA to MGS??? Heavy rain is comparable to channeling all your force into narrow corridor while alan wake is like dividing up all your forces in an open savannah.

I'm quite skeptical of how fun a QTE-fest like Heavy Rain will be, but with its branching storylines, it certainly won't be the most linear game this gen.

Your justifying reasons why you wouldn't buy a PS3 (despite your psn tag) , it's easy to give a list of reasons for not buying something you don't have . If you can give alot of reasons for not buying something you do have then you've probably mad a bad decision in buying it.

Has anyone got actual in game screenshots/gameplay footage of the XBOX 360 version of alan wake LOL 1 (gametrailers.com), does anyone even know what alan wake is about ? LOL 2 (if you don't get it have some friend explain it to you, and give him time). It's a sad state of affairs when fanboys try to tout games that they have no clue about as graphical powerhouses LOL 1 + 2 + LULZ of irony.

Sony has proven consistently that the PS3 is a graphical powerhouse Quite the opposite :  lower framerates / slower loading times / worse anti aliasing / lower resolution / freezes  , it's no suprise to me that the industr is begining to confirm this (maybe in imagination land), it has however been known for a long time that the PS3 graphicaly suprases it's rival (it was promised by Sony, and then we know what happened). Uncharted , GT5:P , Ratchet and Clank etc ( I could go on) have consistently proven the PS3's graphical superiority  .

Considering that the PS3 is already prooven to be ahead of the 360 ( Killzone 2 (considerable slowdowns and very limited models (no organic backgrounds for example) it'll be interesting to see the results of it pulling further ahead ( Heavy Rain , Uncharted 2 ?)

This must be the inaccurate post you were writing about (schizophrenic you )

1st Paragraph : My knowledge was Pre-E3 concerning alan wake , I don't have the time to know everything about the XBOX 360 libary I don't live on the intertnet . Most of my friends have no interest in the 360 , the ones that are have never talked about Alan Wake.

The performance issues you reffering to are a problem on multi-platform games were the developer has failed to understand the architecture of the PS3 or hasnt' dedicated enough/correct resources towards developing games for it. Many PS3 titles technicaly trump what the 360 is capable of (The 32 lag-free multiplayer in Killzone for example , or the obscene amount of animations running at the same time in uncharted).

LOL at the references to multiplatform games , you'll find that there are multi-plats which are superior on the PS3 (Burnout , GTA 4 for example) most PS3 exclusives are technicaly sound so good luck with counter -arguing that.

You sir are the most irrational bias person on this site. Amazing, you managed to trump megaman2 or whatever his damn name is. You cannot argue about something for which you have skewed kowledge of. If this were a courtroom u'd be laughed out the trial. Not only do you not know anything about the 360's library but you are so biased you don't consider it important. EVEN THOUGH YOU'RE ARGUING GRAPHICS FOR WHICH YOU NEED COMPLETE KNOWLEDGE OF BOTH SIDES. Absurd absurd absurd, just absurd.

I was dissapointed in hearing the what this game is all about, i really don't think making gameplay qte is gonna be fun at all. I can't believe they were bold enough to make a game like this. When i said linear though i meant that the player has absolutely no freedom, we're gonna have the way pointed to us with big large signs every step of the way. As i wrote that post though i did notice your point, which deters it from being as linear as it could have been. Obviously the experience changes on how you use each character and which if any die. But without that it would have been top 5 most linear games ever.

@OP
It's like when people said that the Wii was maxed out, but HVS proved that theres a lot more to go.

The 360 is not maxed out. Maybe the developers skills aren't that good and they maxed it out as much as they can. This is far more common than a system being maxed out.
