Gran Turismo 5 released in 2009 will result in PS3 outselling XBox 360 in total console sales sold in 2009, even without a PS3 price cut. PS3 will never be overtaken again by XBox 360 in weekly sales. GT 5 will push PS3 in front of X360 in total lifetime console sales before the end of 2010.

I seemed to have missed where the thread asked peoples opinions on PS3 sales vs 360 sales.

Can you help me find it?

On topic, the PSP rumor that the anon poster posted over on a GT fan site was true, and he said that GT5 was going to drop either late November or early December. I now beleave him.

The  impact that Gran Turismo 5 has on PS3 sales is extremely important to Sony. Gran Turismo series is one of the biggest console selling  series  on PS3 alongside MGS 4, God of War 3, FFXIII, GTA IV, etc.

Gran turismo on PSP should result in boost of its system sales aswell.

Big games significantly push sales of the systems and are extremely important.

I believe the GT5 guys were waiting for Forza 3 to be unveiled so they could find out how to tweak GT5.

Looks like they wasted their time then.

Wait, why? Because GT5 has everything that Forza 3 has and more? Trailer shows damage, more cars, more manufacturers, more tracks, a larger online component (if not backed by XBL which IS a shame)... Im missing your point here.

A smartass reply to a smartass comment.

...and your point is kinda weak, we really don't know how many cars, tracks, or manufactuers (NASCAR in GT5? Crazy) will be in GT5, or about it's online component. I don't know how you were able to draw that conclusion. BTW, PSP GT has more cars than Forza 3.

are you serious??...rofl...

btw..Lemminwink does have a valid point..it's not weak at all...it's been confirmed to have more cars, tracks, and manufacturers...theres also has been a list of cars and tracks...i'm too lazy to find it...google it and it'll be easy to fine.....but i do believe there are more than whats on that list...

but as far as dmg goes...that's not a confirmation...but from trailers..it looks like it could be....this is probably the only weak point that i can see...

Yes he is serious. Twice as many to be exact.

Acutally, we do. Amar on gtplanet (The guy who's been leaking details about Gran Turismo games for years including GTPSP) has stated that the car list will be over 600 and the online component would include alliance and guild creation with "undisputed freedom". The only point where Forza 3 potentially one ups GT5 is in the number of tracks where Forza will apparently have more than 100 while GT5 will have around 96. However, GT5 will include a track creator feature which could turn the tables in GT's favor. Mind you, these numbers are from April. It isn't beyond the realm of possibility that there could be even more cars and tracks in GT5 by the time the final numbers are actually released.

I'll grant that it is a anon poster (basically) posting "secrets" but the guy has come through before, and confirmed the PSP GT in April, and it was announced at E3 when everyone thought it was completely dead.

On top of all that, GT5 will also finally have complete customization according to a Euro mag's information, its poorly translated, but they talk about putting an Audi engine in a Ferrari (why is beyond me).

I agree about NASCAR, I'll give it a whirl, but I hate oval racing, Im looking forward to the WRC component more.

I own all three current consoles and a great gaming rig, now thats out of the way.

This space Reserved for the Nuggets of Wisdom dropped by Bladeforce:

"Why post something like this when all it will get is PS3 owners blinded to reality replying? BOTH THE PS3 AND BLUE-RAY WILL NOT LAST 3 YEARS! TECHNOLOGY CHANGED TOO FAST!"

"is it Wii FIt that has sold as many as PS3's sold? Thats a LOL Look at the total sales of software is it just me that sees Nintendo titles hitting 10m+ and you say they arent making a difference? Another LOL!"

"Hell, with all the negative hype Sony spin, people just aren't interested cost is too high and to get the true HD experience (1080p, 7.1 surround) you will need a $1000+ system. THAT IS GOING TO DO IT IN A RECESSION! PS4 will not happen"

Yeah I don't think Polyphony care that much about a franchise that sells a fifth (without bundles) of what GT sells.

Nice flamebait though.

Well it had better be out by christmas if its technically ready now.

I actually think PD is keeping it secret until Forza is close to release so the Turn10 guys can't copy the new GT5 features within these few months.
