Starting out this gen firmly in the Sony camp, Square flirted with Microsoft before poor performance and increase financial strain force them to admit that their model might be a bit off and that they will be looking towards a more diverse lineup in the future that will be available on as many platform as possible.

Square was going multiplat! Huzzah! And as proof of this they introduced the Last Remnant the first EVER SE game that will be release on multiple platforms simultaneously! (History in the making kids!)

Nice move Square! Only it wasn't true, the 'first true multiplat' game became a timed 360 exclusive before the PS3 version became vaporware, red faced Square PR points out optimistically that the PC version was eventually released (nice sidestep!)

Since the Last Remnant fiasco Square has been busy making many games, they're working on Dragon Quest 9 (a DS exclusive) Dragon Quest 10 (a Wii exclusive), Final Fantasy XIII versus (a PS3 exclusive) Final Fantasy XIII agito (a PSP exclusive) and have released Star Ocean 4 (A 360 exclusive) and Final Fantasy Dissidia (a –you guessed it!- PSP exclusive!).

Oh the irony! Square you really are too much at time, with the exception of FFXIII what other multiplat game do you plan on releasing? Where is the grandiose promise that more and more future games will become multiplat? We've seen Nier and it seems ALMOST to be heading towards the right direction before FFXIV sucker punch 360 owners in the face.

Every time Square appears in a conference, they sizzle and seem to delight in angering their fans that have purchased one console or another, its not even in the action anymore, because they're sound bussiness decision, but rather the way they seem to play the role of supreme bitch to the hilt. (Heather Mill has nothing on Square baby!)

FFXIII is now a multiplat, screw you Sony! And screw you loyal supporter of SE who purchased a PS3 just for our game, boy aren't you feeling dumb buying such an expensive console at launch now huh? But its okay we'll give you versus... for now.

What's that 360 owners? Feeling smug? You just got Star Ocean as an exclusive and you'll be getting FFXIII at the same time as Sony, great huh? Btw you aint getting XIV (for now) suck on that!

How do you divide your loyal fan Square? By making your iconic series exclusives for different console, Buy EVERYTHING to experience the ultimate in Square-Enix offering because we've dabble and blue-ball them all! Wii, DS, PSP, PS3 and 360, buy them all! Miss one and miss out on our exclusive love!

I don't know what you're on about. Who doesn't have a Wii and a X360 and a PS3 and a DS and a PSP?

FFXIV will not be a true game in the main FF series, just like XI wasn't. Personally that's not a loss for MS owners and it shouldn't be a megaton for Sony only owners. Not having Versus is a loss for 360 only owners.

I hate the trend they're going to.. At least FF14 was unexpected and had no background whatsover. I'm guessing this was the original Harraesis(did I get the damn spelling right?)

Forget it... Anyways I'm thinking they just recycled this for now.

@ stage... FF11 is a direct FF game as will FFXIV. They both tell a story and have main characters. In this case we create the main character for our story.

well sony still owns a little over 8% of the company

I am not too happy with SE's use of every platform exclusively. To be honest, I have not really like the direction they have been taking since Enix joined up. They use too many platforms, have far too many spin-offs (one is too many), they take forever to put out a product, and they number the online games as part of the regular series.

Square as some big franchise, the biggest of them is Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest and Kingdom Hearts.

Just about every other 3rd party developer are working either as a Multiplat architype or embracing primarily one console, thats fine, provide your product to a wide audience or consolidate your fans on one console, Square does none of this.

There is a reason why there exist massive forum debate on where Kingdom Heart 3 is gonna land rather than a confident 'multiplat' answer which would satisfy the most people. Square is a second rate bedwarmer that hopes town as soon as you get comfy.
