My story might be enlightening in that I went to a Walmart in a small town with a population of fifteen to twenty thousand. I was fourth in line, and sat there for two and a half hours. Honestly I knew the supply was not a issue, but I wanted to be one of the first, and it was a wonderful opportunity to observe. Obviously I cannot account for what was sold.

The line was between sixty and seventy people long. From what I understood from the mobs banter there were half a dozen people planning to buy a console that night. With an additional half dozen considering a purchase. I never understood why a pal would hang out with you in a line, but some people were doing it. The peer pressure was impressive as people were converted to a purchase before my very eyes. Which is something to be seen.

What is interesting, and most people might not have noticed with their late night lining up is how many people were making multiple purchases. One for themselves and one or two copies for others. I would say every sixth person in the line was doing just that. So effectively the lines were longer then they looked.

Personally I expect hardware sales over two hundred thousand in North America. That was an insane spectacle.

I agree I see 200k this week or 150k somewhere around that area. Halo 3 sold consoles. I know it did. Just like Sony fans are predicting FFXIII and MGS4 is going to sell PS3. I see Halo 3 selling 360.

I think MGS4 and FFXIII are not going to do nothing due to the price. Its going to scare away alot of existing PS2 owners that wanted the PS3 for that game, but can't seem to afford purchasing the PS3.

PS3 price is what scared me from getting it and opted for the 360.

Well by the time MGS4 and FFXIII come out, we'll likely have a $399 PS3 SKU..........although by the I bet we'll see something like a $349 Elite and $299 Premium or lower.

My teacher said on my first day at school (today) 'You must all be excited now' (And I said yes, it is normal at the first day at school' and then he said ' Oh no, I am talking about the Halo 3 release tonight'

Even my teacher wants it X____X (and he doens't go to school tomorow because he wants to finish the fight, good though because of that I don't have class).

You can bet Microsoft will do something like that. And they will have no choice but to make the Core an Arcade SKU and package a 512MB Memory Card and stuff like that and price it at $200.

Now that is amazing. Tell your teacher "that they will be needing a Xbox 360 Elite" if they purchase a 360.
