Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Official Miyamoto E3 briefing thread.

All of Miyamoto goodness here please.

So, in a short time Miyamoto will go over some stuff already known and undoubtly something unknown.

I'm better he will cover either:

1. Pikmin 3

2. Kid Icarus Wii

3. Zelda Wii

Personally, I'm betting Pikmin 3 and would love to see some great details. :)

RECAP of not already known things:

NSMBWii - no online (apparently pushes wii to limits already), 80+levels

WSR - cool guantlet that is similar to horde mode but with Miis.

Zelda Wii - shown next year, all shown now was some art

Wii overall - no future aspect of achievements.

That's about it. :(

I really like this set up. Conference in the morning, then a more in depth sit down in the evening with Shiggy. Good stuff.

IGN: You didn't show Pikmin 3, which is what we were expecting you to show. That kind of surprised us. Why not?

Reggie: Matt, we're all about surprises. We will show that game when it's ready. At the right time. Close to when it's going to be launched. It's not there yet. But Mr. Miyamoto still has his roundtable to do, so maybe you'll see. Maybe you might get that surprise after all.

IGN: Yeah, that's the next question. Mr. Miyamoto didn't have a stage presence here today. The first question is, why not because he usually does? And then, he is here. He has a roundtable. Can you give us a hint as to what it's about?
Reggie: Sure. Well, first off, if you look at how Mr. Miyamoto has interacted in our press conferences, it's been a wide range -- everything from making an appearance at the end in 2004 to being on hand to do a demo. This year, given all the content that we had, we thought it would be best for him to go in-depth with a handful of games during his developer's roundtable and that's what he's going to do later today.

IGN: So you think we might get a surprise or two out of the roundtable?

Reggie: Again, we're always trying to surprise you. So we'll see.

IGN: Are you going to be saving any announcements for Japan? We heard there was some sort of mystery conference.

Reggie: The meeting in Japan is much more retailer oriented so they'll be going through all the details specific to when products are launching in Japan. And within that, there really isn't anything new versus what we've announced today.

Oh Yes, Reggie is hinting at a surprise!! He says no more new stuff at the Japanese conference, but hints at a surprise from Miyamoto!!! Reggie confirms Miyamoto didnt appear on the show to go in depth with some games and possibly a surprise :')

Bets with Conegamer:

Pandora's Tower will have an opening week of less than 37k in Japan. (Won!)
Pandora's Tower will sell less than 100k lifetime in Japan.
Stakes: 1 week of avatar control for each one.

Fullfilled Prophecies

Yep, Reggie hinting at a surprise. I'd put money on Pikmin 3. oooooooohhhhhhhh I hope so.

Is there anywhere we can watch it live? Or if not, a liveblog?

A game I'm developing with some friends:

It is largely a technical exercise but feedback is appreciated.

if it's pikmin 3, then nintey's e3 just goes up from awesome surprise-fest to ULTRA EPIC WIN.

come try out the computer game i've been working on for my high school senior project, titled sling ball. http://vgchartz.com/forum/thread.php?id=76669&page=1

you can view a few screenshots from the game in my photo album here; http://www.vgchartz.com/photos/album.php?album=2312

Reggie said Pikmin 3 wouldnt be announced officially until it's ready to be released, but also said to expect some surprises.

I would be surprised if it was Star Fox or something, and not as surprised if it was Zelda, so that scares me. I hope they show Zelda though. For 2009. For this Winter. For the Wii, for the win.

If I'm not mistake, last year IGN was blogging it. So I would hit IGN right about when it starts.
