Forums - Sony Discussion - So this new motion controller....thoughts?

I think Microsoft is going to use voice commands to walk, jump & run around. Would this be better then pushing buttons on a remote?

I would say that Microsoft was FAR more ready to show off what they had been doing. The Milo demonstration was absolutely critical and it shows that on the software side they are really much further ahead of Sony in terms of making this work for you and I. They both have a lot of potential, but I think Microsoft has more of an opportunity to really create a few killer apps that both Sony and Nintendo cannot do and seal a niche of the market to themselves.

Hate to break it to you but Milo was confirmed to be a streaming hunk of unresponsive bullshit by ign... lol hate to break it to yah :P

Its ok, I believe in Peter. Hes my hero since Syndicate so I know that Milo is the future so... B_E_L_I_E_V_E

IMO I agree that it is a great concept... but now its just a concept... and for at least a few years will remain that way until the concept is realized properly. And ill try to find the damn link...

The killer app for Natal is in education not games at this point IMO. Microsofts biggest strides with Surface have been with kids interacting and if you look at the nature of the Milo interactions its more an educational product. See how it reads documents into the program? See how the kid had homework to do, and it wanted you to help it. You can't make people pay $150-$200 for an interface, but you can get them to pay that much for an education. It has a massive potential, education dwarfs gaming in terms of money spent by quite a significant degree.

I agree, although the common modern day culture often doesn't.

YEa that's great give your homework to Milo and move on to gaming!

The current modern day culture? Theres a rise in 3 year old prep schools for getting into a good school for 4 year olds! If anything its getting worse!

Wow, that just looked...not so good. Yeah it was an engineering prototype but they've already given people that critical first impression...and it looks even worse than the wiimote.

Tech demo or not, it was demonstrated way too awkwardly, they couldn't even hit the balls and all the waving around was choppy.

Combined that with this gen being halfway over already, its just not gonna fly.

Natal on the other hand, I see having potential as a UI change though they're gonna have the same exact software problem PS3 got.

Do you mean accuracy wise?

If you do, you're wrong. It is 100% accurate just like the Wiimote with wii motion plus.

button wise and lack of "nunchuk" might support your point though.

What is it with these ps3 fanboys trying to pretend their motion control is more accurate than motion plus after just a couple of minutes looking at a demo? These are probably the same people writnig off motion control as a gimmick right up until today.

In my opinion the N64 was not just the best console of the 5th gen but, to this day the best console ever created!

Though this has a much better chance at actually getting to market. MS showed vapour.

Only, the company that makes that technology for Microsoft has dropped an October realease date for it.

But you're right, Sony's Ice cream cone controller is way better.

You know, when I first heard about it I wasn't all that happy, but after seeing the video, it looks kinda cool.

For the record, so I don't get attacked, I've never been a huge fan of motion control, but I've always wanted to try the Wii because some of the sports games look really fun.
