Forums - Nintendo Discussion - New Super Mario Bros Wii announced!

Shottie Yoshi if he's playable.

game looks awesome. Either it's SMB with co-op or it's LBP with even more incredible level design and platforming

Nintendo won E3?

This seems to take more from Nintendo's own Zelda: Four Swords Adventures for Gamecube than it does LBP. At least that was what came to mind when I saw it shown. It looks like a lot of fun, but I have a feeling like Four Swords it'll lose a bit of that classic magic to make room for co-op play. Here's hoping I'm wrong.

BTW, I get to be Blue Toad!

I got Luigi :)

I'm pretty sure LBP gets credit for that style of four player co-operative platforming, with points as a competitive element at the same time.  I could be wrong, though.  Was Four Swords even a platformer?  I thought it was like Link to the Past.

Seriously, this game basically takes the best part of one of last year's GOTYs, and makes it (probably) perfect in terms of gameplay.  This could replace Mario Kart as my favorite multiplayer console game of all time.

Man, Nintendo has already done better this year than last year, right off the bat a co-op Mario game for the Wii, and I beleive they just announced another Mario & Luigi game for the DS

This looks fun, but I hope it's not their answer for hard core gamers. They msut have something much bigger than this at the end.

Four Swords had the exact same mentality this game did, just with Zelda gameplay. It was about cooperative puzzle solving, fighting over rupees and heart containers, etc. It was definitely Zelda in gameplay, but the ideology behind both games are the same.

The original NSMB also had the origins of coop mario gameplay, and that game was released before LBP as well.

Looks to simplistic. Was hoping it would be a proper sequel to Super Mario World and Super Mario Bros 3 but this is just a sequel to New Super Mario Bros which was a sequel to Super Mario Bros 1.

Excellent. If they started off with what I'm assuming is going to be a fantastic game, I wonder what else they have in store?

I own NSMB for the DS... you can play Co-op on that?
